After two kids, I knew it was right for me.
I have had no complications since, but it's not always the case. Really study the risks and decide if it is worth it.

Presume you mean you want one not you want to perform this on someone else. Had mine many years ago after second daughter. Bit painful for little while but at least between me and the wife no need for condoms. |

I got a vasectomy and my balls swelled up with so much semen that I have to drain them with a small hollow pin, which is very pleasurable 10/10 would recommend. |
