I was talking to an American a few years ago, she said that her daughter had been told at school that when shocked, an Englishman will say 'blimy', I said not since the 1940s ...then later I was having a conversation with my stepfather and he honestly said it! Can't remember the context, but he actually came out with the word 'blimy' |
