Pre-Christmas dieting

Does anyone else do a pre-Christmas diet so you can then literally eat what you want at Christmas so you don't put excess pounds on for New Year? Trying to lose as much as we can from now to get ready for it. Or is it just us? |

I've moved away from unhealthy eating patterns. Restricting yourself just to binge isn't good for you or your body. I prefer to just eat what I want but make better choices on the quantity I consume, Christmas isn't a good enough excuse to go backwards on progress for me. |

I didn’t know this was a thing.
I don’t really binge out at Christmas time, i probably consume the same amount as I do the rest of the year. I’ve never really gave it a second thought.
Having said that, I don’t make particularly good choices when it comes to food. Maybe a diet could be a good thing. |

We Don't really binge out, but just letting yourself go slightly over Christmas so you can enjoy yourself, we both still put about half a stone on each at least. |

So, I shouldn’t weigh myself before and after Christmas is what I’m taking away from that😅 |

Unless you eat all the chocolate and drink all the beer there's not much to difference. There's one big meal and some leftovers. I don't drink and don't have a sweet tooth but I'd think most of any calories probably come from that? Would dieting now really affect food intake if it's majority booze? |

I think a few feast days a year and a holiday where you eat and drink more or less what you like are fine so I don't change my eating habits before or after.
If my thyroid medication is correct I maintain a steady weight anyway. If it's even a few mcg out havoc ensues until it's right again |

No I won't be, but I'm steadily loosing weight with over a stone and half lost since the beginning of summer. I'm going to attempt to keep at it throughout Christmas, but I'll probably look at calorie intake over a week rather than a day over the festive period. |

"No, I’m just a proper fat cunt who stuffs his face all year round.
The mr "
This.
I also look forward to January when all the excess Xmas food is going cheap in supermarkets. Bargains to be had and all that extra padding reduces the urge to put the heating on. |

Yes, already on it, with extra gym sessions. But slowed down this week while I get over my flu or cold, whatever it is. |

Not related to Christmas but its is about dieting and it's timing is a nice coincidence.
So I had a knee replacement in October. So to prepare for that I started to watch what I was eating to shift some extra pounds, to help with my recovery after surgery.
So I started in August and I'm now almost 3 stones lighter, I'm 2 stones lighter than on our last meet, the one with our newest pics, and hubby says it's really showing now, says he can see a difference.
So been a good girl with all the physio the hospital supplied and I'm a little ahead of schedule. I even did my first circuit this morning to tighten and tone everything up.
So really looking forward to the festive season right now, none of my clothes fit but am going to leave it a bit closer to Xmas, hopefully will have lost a bit more and I'll get a whole new set of clothes, so excited can't wait to glam up over the holidays, Mrs x |

Absolutely. Utterly absurd when I think about it, but my xmas goody hamper would out weight on a matchstick (its 90% cheese ), so I go like mad to fit into xmas party dresses and then go like mad to only fit into a tracksuit in between xmas day and NYE.
I convince myself i can ski it off…. |

"But the Christmas food is out now... Meaning you eat it from now until Christmas. I don't see how your plan works.
Don't think that's how it's suppose to work 🤣"
I guess this is why you look like you do and I look like I do. Darn these supermarket advertising schemes! |

Exactly! We only get 3 months max with pigs and blankets and then they get taken away from us! |

Highest density energy source, fats.
Like butter/anchor spread on your toast? Just use half the amount. In 3 months you'll save about 100000 kcals honest. That said, if you go on the "fuck more" diet you can negate all those calorie issues with more intense sexercises. |

Kind of. I just make more of an effort to watch what I'm eating so I feel better in myself.
This year I've got a beautiful dress to wear for a festive date and I don't want to be feeling... like a heffalump. So I'm trying to be not drawn in by seasonal offerings*. Until Christmas Eve and then I don't give a fuck for a bit.
*100% getting a Terry's Chocolate Orange McFlurry though. |

I am trying to diet until just before Christmas...
I am resisting the hard sell of the supermarkets who want you to buy it and eat it so you have to buy it again.
Although I did have some mince pies from Greggs, they weren't as nice as they used to be though . |

I've nearly lost what I was looking to lose. I'm fitting in to a size 10 now but I've lost my tits.
If anyone sees a lovely pair of Doible Ds wandering about looking for a home, then they are probably mine. If you could let me know I'd be most grateful as would my hubby.
If anyone has lost their hobbies, which look like Basset Hound ears, I see to have them and could drop them off for you.
But aside from the issue of the missing titties the diet went well, a little too wwll according to him indoors...
Hope everyone's doing OK and gets to where they want to be, Mrs x |

I don't like yo-yo dieting and prefer more stability. Our body is also incredibly masterful in returning to a former weight, so we need to work against survival instincts, to shift weight downwards - so I'd prefer not to strengthen that instinctive ability, of losing and then regaining the weight. The more we do something, the better at it, we'll typically become. |

Diets don’t work, has to be a lifestyle. It’s the overeating and booze that’s the problem Christmas or whenever.
Christmas dinner is usually the healthiest dinner a lot of people eat all year.
However, the temptation is massive. And then the guilt even more pleasing initially 😂 |

I cant wait for the new year. Hopefully all the horrible medical issues I've had will be better by then and I get back to walking, yoga, swimming and dancing.
I miss the body I had this time last year xx |

If anyone was wondering what's happened to my tits during this diet, we'll ots ok because I've found them.
Last night when getting undressed I'd found them rolled down over my tummy and they were tucked into my knickers, so panic over.
So just looking to see if anyone has the right kind of pump, i could borrow, so I can inflate them back up to their proper size, I'd be very grateful,
Mrs x |

I'll not do any specific dieting as I already eat healthy and frequently engage in intermittent fasting.
I will let loose during Christmas time as the temptations are many and relentless. If you're able to maintain a semblance of exercise routine during the holidays, the increase in weight is negligible

Really not looking forward to Christmas. The nibbles, Christmas dinner and little extras you buy are the best time of year. But now that I can't eat, having to make Christmas dinner and watch my family eat it whilst I can probably just eat a potato isn't going to be easy. |

If you diet prior to xmas then indulge at xmas you may find you'll put all if not weight back on and maybe harder to lose it. |

That's the idea, just put back on what I lose, not sure why it would be harder to lose though. |
