Obviously it's Mohammed if the BBC say so. They'd never lie about anything.

If we revered our spiritual leader as much as Muslims revered theirs, Satan would be way, way ahead as a boys' name .

Lucifer is more popular than you would have thought to be fair 😂 not even in the top 1000 but still. A name with those associations...

It is a pretty cool name tbh.

Plus, the pagans can claim it has far more to do with Venus than Christianity, so you can just about get away with it.

I do like the sound of Lucifer. Rolls off the tongue well.

I mean I wouldn't surprised if it was Muhammad. Seems common for Muslims to name their children after their Prophet.

"Obviously it's Mohammed if the BBC say so. They'd never lie about anything."

BBC reported it just like other news agencies. Office for National Statistics say so.

"BBC says Muhammad, I say John and my neighbour says Adam, what do you say? "

This is only one spelling of the name, there are nine others. The top spot goes to this variation, the ONS website lists the different spellings as separate entries. In total, nearly twice the amount of the next most popular name, Noah. It must be very difficult for some teachers in classes

Considering it's based upon baby boys being given a name (not the entire male population) I assume anyone surprised and saying John must be clearly basing it on days gone by. It's not even close to number 1. In 2022 is was 26th most popular.

It's a lot of printing for birthday balloons etc, so I'd expect prices will rise, in years to come

It's quite common for all brothers within the same family to be called Mohammed

Very often a second given name is used as their identifying name
