Do you just poo yourself when you realise you mess up?

Or what? What do you do?

Bloomsbury, London

Literally and figurately I dont poo myself.

Work out a solution, or if it requires a more complicated costly one, just work on that soonest and transparently. Then it turns out usually those huge stress situ's are not bad at all.

I've literally set a ballroom at the Dorchester on fire by accident, and it all turned out okay.

I try not to fuck up at all due to the fact there is so much at risk and so many people could get hurt. So when I do fuck up I take it personally.

Ask them if a bang would help matters.

I've made extremely expensive cock ups. I been a relieved witness to other people's cock ups. Every single person who has a job has cocked up.

I own up, help sort it and feel bad for a bit. That horrible sweaty moment when you realise isn't very nice though

I say I fucked up and here’s how I’m going to fix it (if I can) if I can’t, I ask for help.

We’re humans not robots. Mistakes happen.

Firstly understand that what I do is meaningless. I'm not digging bodies out of the rubble in a war zone, I'm negotiating deals for the purchase of manufacturing equipment.

When I make a mistake? The fate of the entire world rests on my shoulders and it's the worst thing that's ever happened.

I beat myself up, overthink things and absolutely catastrophise for a bit.

Then I come up with a plan, tell my boss what's happened and how I'm fixing it and what support I need to fix it.

Then a couple of years later I relive the moment at at 3am and beat myself up about it all over again, just for the lols.

Even my Roomba accidentally ran over a wire the other day and started overheating the little prick.

Depends what it is. I always own up and try to sort it. Pointless to try and cover it up, it just spreads the shit further.

Own up to it and take accountability. If I don’t do that, I don’t set the right example for my team to follow. 😉

Mr's job is pretty chill, there's not much that can't be fixed. If he can't fix it there and then, he messages his manager, to see how better to deal with it. No poop!

Carlisle usually

See if I can resolve it without having to flag it.

If not, hands up, admit fault and see if someone else can fix it.

I dislike making errors. But they happen.

Pretty sure my work know they can't afford to lose me over any minor fuckups 💜

If I can't sort it out quickly I just tell the boss and we figure it out together. I don't panic about it, apart from that time I drove a tractor into a pond. I MAY have panicked a little then.

It's not the cock up, it's all the faux drama that people create around it

I am human

People make mistakes

I don't have a job where anyone will die if I fuck up - at most someone might be inconvenienced for a day or two

Yet listen to someone who has been inconvenienced and you'd think Armageddon has been brought forward

Needless to say, I don't hide behind a mistake and hold my hands up and see how best I can put it right

I still go home and sleep at night

I find we are often driven by the need to hit KPI's that we lose of sense of both person and personality

I recall a more pleasant time when we built relationships with customers, not target driven contracts

La la land

Sort it out and then tell the boss, if possible.

If not panic like mad, tell the boss and then try and fix it.

Worst ones though when others accuse you of fucking up, but you're sure you didn't and have to prove and sort it out the same time. Which has been this week dilemma and I've worked excessive hours and am now shattered

There's not much scope for me to fuck up in my job... Unless I'm in the bakery. I did fuck up once because I was in by myself for the first time, overwhelmed and ended up forgetting about some bread. When I remembered, it wasn't burned but it was rock hard 😭 had to bin it all and start over
