So I'll spare the details of the American Senator who wants to ban all porn to the politics Forum but it did make me think.
What if all pornography from the Internet disappeared overnight, sites like Fab, Fet and the big "Hubs" were all taken down and our AI overlord wiped it all from your hard drives?
Would you handle it well, how would it affect your lifestyle?
Can you think of any positives?
I still have some magazines in a box somewhere and frankly I'd be happy to return to a simpler time, I feel it would be a good thing for me (agree others might disagree but In talking purely about my own view and reactions) and the bonuses of closing down the dark Web would outweigh my own inconvenience. |

I still have a pile of magazines named after 2 Ford cars beginning with F and E.
Must be 30-40 of them stashed in a bin bag in the depths of my wardrobe.
Been there since I stopped buying my monthly editions around 15 years ago.
My wife doesn't know they are there.
If ever I find myself with a few hours alone at home I have an odd style porn wank..no phone.

Some of the people who would otherwise be at home browsing your gallery and sending you pointless messages they'll not follow through on, without the outlet of being able to wank, may instead be harassing you for sex in the streets or stalking you at your house.

I don't think ALL porn should go. Maybe just the misogynistic , violent or snuff or illegal or all the other stuff that people blindly claim doesn't harm anyone..... but not all porn

To be honest with some of what is out there and how easily it's accessible to youngsters and others who are easily influenced by some right dodgy stuff it might be beneficial to have restrictions..
However it's pretty much out of control and makes too much money for some so it's not happening..

It will only get worse.
Under the proposals with the Dept of Edu to be abolished responsibly of education will be devolved to state level. Traditionally "Blue" state taxes etc have been used to fund "Red" state education programmes.
The result will be undefunded Red states will be able to teach the story of Genesis as fact, ironically going against the founding principle of the USA that schools and government should be non-secular. |

I have a kindle full of smut so still have wank-fodder for the times my imagination needs some assistance.
That said I enjoy beautiful photos, so I'd miss them. I'm active on a porn forum, so I'd miss that. If it covered all "adult" sites I'd miss hook-up sites. |

Get rid of porn on the Internet, the Internet will die. It doesn't bother me but the main reason I agree porn should be on the Internet is it pisses off The Thaliban and other fundamentalists and extreme organisations who want to suppress western freedoms.
It's a principle at steak. If porn goes what next, sexy advertising, the way we dress, how we socialise. Ban pubs and clubs? Or ban war movies, will that stop war and killing?
Porn is a form of education, sex education is lacking in some parts of the world. Teenagers will still go out and experiment. People will still wank and have sex, some people will still offend without porn so it won't make any difference.
If authorities want to stop sex crimes and teenagers doing the wrong things, educate. Public information films. schools and colleges and parents.
Teach self control, respect others space and boundaries. Alot can be learnt from fetish world in terms of boundaries and respecting a personal space.
They'll probably find sex crimes go up if they gey rid of porn.

So all you preexisting magazines, VHS or other hidden stuff is now contraband.
Will you risk a criminal conviction and the consequences of that for a wank and feeling of smugness that you have 'beat the system'.
Continuing thought exercise there is a 40% chance you will be caught and face punishment. The upper penalty is 30 years incarceration however you may be given a lower sentence or your lawyer will get you off with no charges but people will know why you were arrested.
Is it still worth the risk?

Try using fab in "Hide all pictures" mode. That will give you a taster.
The landscape would be very different as people couldn't catfish as easily, and would have to rely more on personality and the written word rather than a good picture to get a meet. |

We haven’t watched porn for ages online.
There are many erotic porn novels and accounts from ancient times up to now to be found.
We especially like the Victorian novels.
Had to look up many a word as it appears they had a much richer and varied vocabulary than we do. We like gamahuche.  |

It’s a tricky one. I know of kids who have problems with how they relate to women and are accessing Internet porn - and the parents don’t care.
I also know of folk who used to hack their parental controls (kids are smarter than parents) and turned out fine.
I used to raid a secret stash of mags and books and a kid and I turned out… er maybe best not go there.
On a personal level I’m kinda bored of porn anyway. If I could find decent books I’d probably read those.

It's disappeared anyway for me, used to watch it on a smart tv in my bedroom, now you can access the sites & find the videos - but none of them play. Same with all sites I know of, YP, Xnxx, xhamster etc
That seemed to happen over New Year so I guessed there are new rules here for watching. Probably saved me from a few late nights tbh |

I going to shoe horn in my usual recommendation of a book called The Porn Trap as its very thought provoking.
Ultimately I believe porn is harmful and needs so much tighter (oi oi) controls and access restrictions and what annoys me is dickheads like the US taking it to a stupid extreme and essentially eliminating meaningful debate as its now becoming a discussion about personal rights not the original issue.
Is akin to saying everyone over the age of 65 has to redo their driving test (many good arguments for a every profession has some form of continual professional development and assessment so why not handling a lethal weapon??) but then having the lessons done by the Wacky Racers and Mr Magoo administer the test. |

for start off we have the idiots in power here so theres no need to talk about censorship in the usa.
like the usa, uk is already going down the censorship route whilst being ignorant on who controls the access to it and your data.

its there but its sort of restricted on your search its like give us your details so you can access adult content.

To be really honest I tend to think it would be a good thing for me personally. Porn has become so easy to access that it has lost its naughty sparkle it once had. Gone are the days where all scenarios and wank subjects were a result of what your brain developed, which ended up with a much more fulfilling session. Like a lot of things in life these days that’s all done for us now. |

The ban would include sexual education, advice on contraception and access to contraception.
Also any discussion in regard to men and woman's sexual health and reproductive issues would be banned.
It would turn things back to before the 1960s, and in any case the rich will stiil access porn as content as they did then. |

Lol last message brought back some happy memories of many years ago , I went into a shop in Seaton Devon and went to the counter with a copy of 60 plus a mature lady was at the till looked at and said so you like this type of thing I said yes and paid, she said just a minute scribbled a note and handed it over on it was her address and a message to saying come to night at 8 o clock. Banning makes it popular, it definitely won't stop sex attacks. arguably could cause them to increase as a potential sex attacker may use porn as a release and control.
Just age verification should be the way to go. Kids can figure how to get around all the hurdles.
Education should be stronger it's too week at the moment for teenagers.
A program made for adult people who have the urge to do anything adverse sexually where they can learn how to control their urges even have a controlled realest scenario.
Banning for the majority people who have self control is unfair. Ban cars? |
