Questions Regarding The Highway Code During The Zombie Apocalypse
Jump to: Newest in thread
Ey up good folks 👍🏻
I’m sure that you will all wholeheartedly agree that just because the zombie apocalypse may have begun, we should all still adhere to good driving etiquette.
With this in mind therefore….
Question 1: Whilst out driving, you notice a large group of zombies in the road ahead.
Do you:
A) Bring your vehicle safely to a stop and put on your hazard lights so as to alert other road users to the obstruction ahead?
B) Indicate and pull over safely before waiting for the army to arrive and kill the buggers?
C) Slow up and gently beep your horn at the undead so as to alert them to the fact that even during such cataclysmic times, they should still respect road users?
D) Something else? (Please elucidate)

"As a person doing big miles I can confirm that a %?of the zombies are actually drivers as well now with no regard for the highways code themselves so f&ck them it’s survival of the fittest"
That might explain the cyclists that can't stop at red lights! (Waits for the backlash) |

You aren’t wrong!! The Highway Code states ‘Road users’ so all cyclists, cars, scooters, horses, etc are required to stop at a red light.
The few spoil it for the rest of us. |

Are they at a junction? I need to know if they are at a junction ? It's imperative that you say whether they are at a junction or not and whether they are waiting to cross. Without knowing if it's a junction or not I can't answer.
Just because they are the undead doesn't mean I can treat them as if they aren't -
If no one is looking i'd try to mow them down like skittles in the ABC |

Are these zombies...
A) George A Romero slow lumberers
B) Danny Boyle fast uns
...the speed of fellow road users is essential data and needs to be factored in .

I’m not sure it’s all cyclists, just as it’s not all motorised vehicle drivers and riders don’t exceed the speed limit, park on double yellow lines, don’t stop at red lights, etc…
But to answer the question… B
But only if it’s safe to do so and parking is not prohibited. |

Depends on the type of zombie, are they flesh eaters that a highly sensitive to noise, like in Walking Dead or are they just undead waste of spaces?
I'll probably get my gun out and shoot the buggers or wait for a truck to flatten them. |

Do you know something we don't? Insider information? Are you gathering data for the government in the event of said apocalypse 🤔 |

You have raised some legitimate and indeed, highly intriguing questions good folks 😂👍🏻
Let me see….
Said zombies are indeed presently lumbering across a junction with clearly no respect for law abiding road users.
They are of the Romero’esque variety of shufflers - not even having the diligent courtesy to cross the road in an orderly manner.
They also appear to have retained some semblance of auditory sense, despite their levels of decomposition and are alert to loud noises.
Finally: No, no, no - yes; I may indeed have some insider information as regards this scenario becoming a reality and may furthermore be presently holed up safely with government leaders in a specially constructed bunker…. 😜

Sounding one’s horn may cause said zombies to become distressed causing a stampede, which is neither good for their safety nor yours and in fact other road users. May i suggest pulling over with hazards on and wait for military intervention. |

I am somewhat confused as regards the 2022 H2 Highway Code amendment….
To quote: ‘At a junction you should give way to pedestrians crossing or waiting to cross a road into which or from which you are turning.’
Does this in fact still apply if one turns in to find a zombie sitting in the road chomping down on some poor unfortunates entrails? 🤔

"D) slow down, reprogram sat nav to the Winchester and wait for it all to blow over."
I played one of the zombies in Shaun, can attest that it's a plan which would be semi-successful!
The experience taught me to be weary of women wielding golf-clubs, though! |

Are you the reason that Shaun’s mum and Phil had to get their vaccinations?!? |
