So what is your preferred crisp to have in a sandwich?
Do you add other fillings?
Do you butter the bread?
The only crisp sandwich I have is prawn cocktail skips.
I butter the bread, and squish the bread together with a satisfying crunch.
Then cut into 2 triangles, because triangle sandwiches taste better than square or rectangular. |

"Hmm.....not a fan of crisp sandwiches. Prefer not to mix the two up. I do miss Brannigans crisps. A sad loss 😬"
Brannigan’s ham and mustard were top tier crisps … used to have them with a pint of Joseph Holt’s bitter in my college days |

"Cheese & onion Tayto's on white bread, with butter. Breakfast of champions as kids, at sleepovers 🤣
Not keen on corn crisps on sarnie's, but monster munch, I'll allow it! "
Pickled onion - got to be pickled onion |

Funnily enough, yes! They're not my favourite flavour, so I discovered this happy accident by sticking them on some bread and butter 😅 |

Nik-Naks
not just because they make an awesome sandwich, but for sentimental reasons too; Used to spend my lunch money on a crusty roll and a bag of nik-naks to make the cheapest lunch I could, so I could either put the rest in an arcade machine, or gamble at cards! ♠️♥️♣️♦️ |

Ok, now the purple ones are my GOAT! I can't face putting them on a sarnie though. Remember the yellow packet? Cheese flavour. Omg, why did they stop those |

Nice'n'Spicy or Rib'n'Saucy, wasn't a fan of the cheese ones |

I've never had a crisp sandwich, the bag is usually empty seconds after opening it.
OP Skips aren't real crisps, real crisps have to be made from potato. Skips & pringles are made from garbage.
Aldi hand cooked crisps are awesome, but the best is Tyrrells salt and vinegar IMO. |

I never saw the appeal of crisp sandwiches. I put some ready salted in some bread and thought, "I'm just eating crisps AND bread together". A bit like blending a roast dinner in to a smoothie. It all tastes the same. So I gave up on the idea as it wasn't for me. Happy that others seem to enjoy it however. |

"Now I know I'm going against the grain here, but I have never tried a crisp sandwich and I don't think I'd be keen to try one."
....(sighs a sigh of sad sympathy)... Make yourself a crisp sandwich and thank every poster here later. |

Definitely the best,
salt and vinegar crisp sandwich should be illegal |

I have smokey bacon in mine because offends the Thaliban.
I eat them while watching tv as it enhances the crunch and I may be inclined on a full moon to howl like a wolf while eating them.
I can honestly say I have never made love to such a sandwich, just not ethical. |

Fresh, crusty white bread thickly sliced. Lots of butter or even Lurpak spreadable. Ready salted crisp thickly layered. The layering is important, as much of the bread covered. Second buttered slice on top. No crunching down. Large mug of buiders tea. Can only be improved by having a naked supermodel beside you. |

"Two slices of white bread heavy on the Lurpak, and a packet of Walkers Salt & Vinegar "
This but with technique
So open crisp to release air. Squash all crisp to crumb. Heavy butter (this is the glue). Scatter crumb, other slice on top, very firmly press together ( no crisp escapes)
EAT. |

"This has taken an odd turn. Someone at work mentioned crisp sandwiches, and told me they put them in a sandwich toaster for a crunchy, warm snack 🫣🤓"
1) did you ask your colleague if they mentioned crisps sandwiches because they're members of a swingers site ?
2) that sounds intriguing, I bet adding crisps to cheese on roast would be yummy. Bread, tomato ketchup, maybe bacon flavoured crisps, then cheese, splash of Worcester sauce and then under the grill . |

No. I was eating a sandwich and a bag of McCoys. The inference about swinging never came up. If he'd mentioned Brannigans I'd have been worried, being his boss. 😬🤓 |

I like ready salted crisp sarnies, sprinkle a bit of grated cheese in for good measure.
Erik prefers a cheese & onion crisp sandwich with grated cheese too.
Everything is better with cheese.
(Except willies 🤢)

I always remember growing up me my dad and my brother sitting around the table making sandwiches out of our cooked dinners or just adding crisps into the sandwiches my mum had made us and my dad telling us we are allowed to do this at home but never outside the home at all there people's homes definitely not restaurants. Had to think of how things looked, standards and all that. But going by this thread practically everyone does it and the ones who haven't tried a crisps sarnie yet, DO IT |

I would have said (and did so on a fairly recent thread), that my choice would be Walker's salt & vinegar for a crisp sarnie. So, inspired by my contribution to said thread I made that very crisp sandwich and couldn't eat it because the vinegar was so strong. I think my taste buds are changing as I get older because I also am no longer fussed on Monster Munch beef and pickled onion flavours. So now my favourite crisp sandwich needs to be identified.

"Imagine a Buckingham Palace garden party, for a tea. The waiters prepare your crisp sandwiches "
I reckon Charles and Camilla both love a crisp sandwich, but probably use something disgustingly weird like twiglets (twiglets are sold in the crisps aisle so I'm classifying then as crisps ) |
