I used to collect records and CDs, still have a collection but I rarely add to it now. Just not as into new music these days and I don't like buying reissues when I've probably already got it.

I haven't bought a physical copy of music in about 12-15 years. I used to have an extensive CD collection that's now in boxes at my mums house. But honestly I've been digital only for a very long time. My laptop and PS5s don't even have disc drives so I can't play CDs or DVDs even if I want to.

Yup, that's me on most formats you've mentioned, got about 3k vinyl, more cds than I can be arsed to count and I have about 13k albums as digital files. I quite like music, got allsorts from all over, just about every style. I have some spectacularly rare lps, not that I really care, it's all about the music for me.

Where possible I will always buy vinyl, harder these days as the prices are extremely high.

Got a few rare/signed records worth a few bob but would never sell them and a random cd worth a fair amount that I only pick up as a friend of mine worked for the label at the time.

Still got minidiscs, they're the future...

You can buy fantastic CDs for peanuts and it's still my main medium. Can't be doing with downloads (poor quality and rip off for artists) or the vinyl revival (stupid prices).

Our kids asked me a few years ago, "what's a CD!?" It was at that point, I knew I was old af (to them). 🤣

But yeah, I used to have LOTS of CD's. Still do buy some now and again, just artists that we really like. They're handy on car journeys when other tech is failing us 👌

Yeah in my head I'm still young and cool, then I'm reminded no I'm not 🥲 I walked into HMV in Manchester a few weeks ago and most of what they were selling wasn't music just rubbish merchandise, posters, tat and old DVDs/Blurays.

I STILL collect DVDs & Blu-Rays. That’ll never change. I think people are slowly realising its value in the streaming era.

*Not everything is available in streaming

*You'd have to subscribe to multiple streaming services just to watch what you want.

*Better sound & picture.

*Content can be removed by companies at a whim.

*Movies can be edited to fit “modern sensibilities” or localised audiences.

*No internet, no entertainment….Not for me

I still went for the disc drive PS5, purely because you can often pick up the physical discs for cheaper than the digital games and then resell them. Pretty sure I've more than saved the extra cost.

Currently have about 1800ish vinyls both singles and albums. I collect rare records and particularly Japaese imports vinyl and cd's as I love the packaging. Have lots of tour shirts and record company promo pics amongst lots of others memorabilia.

Yeah we collect vinyl . Carboots are the best for our taste . Roughly around 1000 at the moment . We still use Spotify for new music but if it's something we really like we will buy a hard copy .

Vinyl addict here (mostly hunting down and re buying all the albums I stupidly sold for peanuts when CD’s came along).

I refuse to use streaming platforms as they are killing music and they pay artist a pittance.

Yeah other people have said this to me but I quite enjoy replaying games so I wouldn't necessarily be selling on games every time I finished with them.

the land of saints & sinners

I’ve got vinyl’s, cd’s and cassettes.

Never sold any of them when a new format came out.

Gone back to buying vinyl.

Have got loads of rare stuff, limited and signed copies.

Will always visit record stores in other parts of the UK and other countries when visiting or on holiday and normally come back with a few interesting vinyl’s.

Never stopped listening to new music I guess that I have never grown up…..

I've got (many would say) way too much of it all!

Even in the "CD only" era I still played vinyl though. I've always loved vinyl, especially old blues albums.
