I watched a Bollywood movie that had a similar theme a few weeks ago.
He eventually found her, but it turned out she didn't want to be found. Well she was troubled by the fear of being ostracised by her family, but their love was so strong that try as they might they simply could not stay apart and when they did try eventually fate brought them back together.
She killed herself in the end. |

I’m usually really tolerant, but aren’t some of these comments kinda racist and not very friendly to the Indian folks? I appreciate they’re probs not intended that way |

I'm Indian myself and I don't find it offensive. Life is too short. There's always going to be an audience for it and not. I'm happy go lucky and being 'punny' 😜 as are others here commenting here in thr same nature. Not to take offence. |

I'm Indian as well and do find the puns more cringey than funny as I would if it was any other country mentioned. I also don't agree with a poster above implying that because a few are Indian and ok with it, that makes it ok as it gives "I have friends that are..." but then again, I appreciate that in this instance, it's just a difference in what I find funny rather than finding it offensive 🤷♂️ |

They’re pretty disgusting in all honesty.
I had typed a long rant earlier but decided it’s not worth it…. But so disappointed in some contributors to this thread. |

I agree, the humour is from the 1970's...I thought we'd moved on. |

That's all fair, but to reply to your reference to my post I wasn't saying the jokes were 'ok' because some posters were Indian - imo the puns are obviously ok, part of a Lounge tradition of puns and wordplay which in this case happened to be about words relating to India. If no Indian posters were here I'd think the same and am happy for my own cringeworthy puns to stand alone.
If people are genuinely offended rather than just having a dig (not you Joe) then I apologise and won't post again. |

I completely get that and I can see why people can conflate the two as it can be a blurry line and the reason I'm not offended is simply because I wouldn't be if another country was the subject of those puns. The point you made initially was the only part I sort of took issue with but thank you for clarifying your position on that |
