How do you keep your phone and your more private apps as secure as possible?
I've learned today about setting a SIM lock and that's now done, so my SIM couldn't be removed and used in a different phone to bypass my fingerprint lock.
I have a fingerprint lock set up for whatever apps allow it, what else can we do?
What's the best way to keep your phone and its contents as secure as possible in case it gets lost or taken from me? |

On android
Look at the new "Theft protection" under "security and privacy" "more security settings"
This is how silly phones can be. Backup of photos was auto disabled as being unused.
So google backup doesn't backup photos without this.
Had to reactivate manually and then mark as no to "remove permissions if app is unused"
There are a multitude of things you can turn on built by android/Google but not all are suitable for everyone like your sim lock issue.
I would look up best practises for your phone os and decide which ones you want to activate or not.

There was a feature on my old phone (probably is on my current one), called ICE - In Case of Emergency, where you assigned a friend or relatives number. If you have a password/face recognition you could swipe the screen, ICE came up and essentially speed dialled the person stored. Good if lost, in an accident, in some kind of trouble and scrolling numbers wasn't fast enough. |

That feature is fantastic and I would recommend everybody turning that on if you haven't already.
At a festival I managed to return two lost phones to people by using their emergency contacts, |
