So, I like to think of myself as at least reasonably well travelled and all that shiz, but I’ve been spending more time in Scotland lately and today I was reminded that I know nothing!

I dropped into Greggs this morning for a breakfast roll and coffee and I was presented with a shocking dilemma from the impossibly happy lady at the tills - “certainly Sir, would you like square or strung!”

What the actual F!!! Who knew??? There’s a square sausage!!! Literally like a little square hamburger!!!

Not to mention they have pineapple cakes here too!!! Mind blown!

It got me thinking. Are there any unusual food variations where you live that I might not be aware of? I need to know, thanksomuchly

Enjoy your afternoon, whatever you’re doing and enjoy your wrong’un’s square sausages if that’s your personal preference! XxX

I feel like I should have tried it, but the smiley service lady pulled one out of the metal heater thingy to show me and I started to gag on the spot! Are they not as bad as they look then?

Scottish breakfast shits allover an English fry up. Elite tier. Maybe even better than an Irish which I don't say lightly 🫣

Manchester

Bury near Manchester is famous for its black pudding but I don't like it that much, I find it bland. I think the Scottish & Irish black pudding I've had is so much nicer.

I do love a Chorley/Eccles cake which is similar to a mince pie.

Manchester Tart

Gravy on everything

Some people apparently call mushy peas "Manchester caviar" but nobody I grew up with ever called it that.

It Wigan they have a Wigan kebab (a pie in a barm)

I love white pudding but think I like haggis on a breakfast a bit more 😬 it's a tough one. My family may disown me 😂

If you can’t enjoy custard on your pudding, it’s not a pudding!

Never been to Greggs as live in Ireland but I have heard you can buy Greggs branded coffins if you Google it…… That’s hardcore!!

I recall being in a hotel in. Birmingham and a really nice waitress taking my order in a Brummie accent asking me if I also wanted “Bubble & Squeek” with that? 😆 I was like “Bubble and wha??”

Looove bubble and squeak with a breakfast. It's a boxing day staple in our house to use the leftovers.

Just a normal pork sausage. I don’t do fancy sausages like Cumberland etc.

Take it up another level by having haggis plus Stornoway black pudding, you can thank me later!

Take a minute to reflect …

The best Cumberland sausage is mr Woodall’ family made sausage ( appointed to HRH)

Made with loving care in Wabberthwaite

Outstanding …

If you're in Adelaide, do try an Adelaide Floater - basically a beef pie floating in a dish of mushy pea soup. Better than it sounds.

Profile is named after a massive frankfurter I had from a German market, which burnt the roof of my mouth.

I have an image in my mind now of BIG Franz from Frankfurt and an overly energetic and unlubed blow job…

Stornoway black pudding is the Rolls Royce of the black pudding. Simply put on a slice of toast with a soft poached egg on top. MMM. Once you go stornoway black you don't go back.
