Hello, just looking for inspiration if there are any walkers/hikers on here.
I’m looking for some new places to go. I’ve done quite abit over the Peak District and north wales. Just wondering if anyone has any favourites?

Camp at fairbourne and have a look at surrounding areas, lots of old disused mines and things to find. ..lots of places around there. 😉 |

Yeah, I've got loads around here, all the glens and a really good costal route. Scotland is a great place for it!😁 |

I enjoy walking around North Wales, lots of great walks there, and scenery to die for, last trip I had a trot over Cader Idris for the first time. Parked at the Dol Idris Nature Reserve, did a circular walk from there, took best part of a day, but was a great amble out |

Ullswater.
Because it's to the east of the lake district, it's reasonably quiet.
Lots of circular routes to do around the water. The whole area feels prehistoric. |

The daffodil way - 10 mile circular walk near Dymock in Gloucestershire
Also Symmonds Yat - lots of walks to choose from and the views are breathtaking
For gentler walks up north I love the Kettlewell and Starbotton circular walk with Janet’s Foss, askrigg falls, ingleton falls, Hawes to muker call at the Green dragon for food on the way back and hardraw force).

Try the Pennines just above the peak ( huddersfield - Oldham and upto Hebden Bridge). Some fantastic walks and scenery and is definitely not as people full as the Peak. |

I don’t do proper walks, I tend to do nature reserve, forestry walks in my local area. They tend to be quieter with more flora and fauna to look at, photograph.
I am funny with heights and have no sense of direction so proper walks where you’d need a map and compass would see me being on the News at Ten, as a missing person! |

If you're driving, you could go to Rivington pike / Lancashire.
Probably about 2 hours from stoke.
Park at Rivington Hall barn.
Walk towards the pike ( old fort type building), keep going beyond the TV mast ...explore the moorland, lots of huge reservoirs.
You could easily do a 20 mile circular hike round there and make a day of it.
Further you walk, the more peaceful it gets..😎 |

A hardcore walking friend of mine does very long ones through this area. He starts from quite far though, bury, where he lives..and walks back. Probably about 30 miles..about 15/16 hour treks. |

Some of my favourites in the Peak District are Kinder Scout South edge from Ed car park anticlockwise coming down Jacob’s ladder and then through Lee Farm. I also like a quick hike up Winn Hill, it’s fairly short and steep with great views on the top. Something more relaxing , Thorpe cloud and dovedale to Milldale. Something more challenging and adventurous park up at Fairholmes car park , walk north past Derwent dam, follow the water north and just keep going north west eventually you’ll get to Bleaklow Moor, you need to navigate for an hour or two without any tracks to pick up the penny way going south joining snake pass, crossing snake pass, picking up the climb up onto the northern edge of Kinder Scout and then all the way back around through the woods and back to the car park it’s a good 8 to 12 hours depending on how much you get lost |

Ive only done a few walks in the peak district ..and quite a long time ago.
What's the place in the peak district / debryshire with a huge old industrial type bridge... quite high altitudes and views around it? |

Yes I walked past that mine when I was there, towards the village centre where there's a statue of a historical dog..and then back. Good walk in itself.
The waktin to path to go up Snowdon is on on the outskirts. |

I can't swim, but this is one of those occasions where being tall helps - I can walk deeper!
Have you been to Helvellyn? There's a meandering path down from there which also has a great waterfall for a bath. Or the lake at the bottom of course. |

I can't swim, but this is one of those occasions where being tall helps - I can walk deeper!
Have you been to Helvellyn? There's a meandering path down from there which also has a great waterfall for a bath. Or the lake at the bottom of course."
I havent done Helvellyn but done a circular nearby. I love Scafell |

In the Peak District, this is my favourite.
Park in Hope, climb Lose Hill (the views from the top are amazing). Walk down and along the ridge to Hollins Cross, then climb Mam Tor (again the views are gorgeous). Down Mam Tor and across to the Limestone Way. Along for a short distance, then down past Peveril Castle into Castleton for a pint (or two) in the beer garden of the Castle Hotel. A gentle stroll through Castleton and then walk back to Hope along the valley floor next to the river.
I really enjoy this walk. I can thoroughly recommend it. |

Bit of a bump!…. I haven’t replied for a while.
I’m looking to get out but my weekends are looking pretty hectic. So looking like the last weekend in August now. I haven’t done my yearly snowdon climb followed by a chill in the waterfall. I do enjoy sunrise hikes but failing that it’s always an early one to beat the crowds going up. At the moment I have this down for the 30th of August.
This weekend maybe just a walk around somewhere in the peaks or even a run out to Cannock as there are some good routes around there. |

Another lovely walk is drive to Pistyll Rhaeadr Waterfall, it’s a 15 min single lane drive from the nearest village, which gives you perfect views of the waterfall.
You park underneath the waterfall at a fantastic campsite and you walk up to the top. You are deep in the heart of the Berwyn Mountains and the view from the top of the waterfall is incredible - there are loads of walks off the waterfall too.
It’s a gem of a place - it’s the highest waterfall in Wales.
