There are a few nice Easter challenges going on, so I thought why not add a classic egg hunt to the mix.
Here's how the game goes:
There is 1000x1000 field with one spot holding the golden egg 🥚. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find its location. It's only 1 spot out of a million, so the odds are not in your favour.
Luckily, the Easter bunny 🐰 is going to help you - once you choose a spot, the bunny will let you know if the egg is above/below/in row as your guess and same for left/right/in column.
Your guesses should be this format - if you guess row 123, column 456 - write (123,456) - include the parentheses and separate by a comma please. Reply in public.
Here's an example to illustrate using a 5x5 field:
Let's assume the egg is at location (2,4) and you guess (4,1)
🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿
🌿🌿🌿🥚🌿
🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿
🐰🌿🌿🌿🌿
🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿
The rabbit will let you know that the egg is above row 4, and to the right of column 1.
The egg location doesn't change so the more guesses there are, the closer you can collectively get to its real location.
TL;DR: just type in 2 numbers between 1 and 1000 inclusive separated by a comma and in parentheses, e.g. (123,456)
Your post must include such a number pair in parentheses to count as a guess. You can discuss normally / ask if anything's unclear of course. |

Done right I think it should only take 25 guesses to get it right if you owe the right logic
The (500,500) should be the first guess as it is as quarters the area. Then pick the middle point of the quarter thats left then carry on like that quartering the target area each time |

Well, I didn't want to give away the secret but this is the right idea. And it's actually less than 25 guesses. You only need a maximum of 10. The beauty of this is how it scales - you only need 20 for a 1000000x1000000 field! |

Wait, what?! It's always top to bottom, left to right in English, correct? This convention of 1,1 bottom left never even crossed my mind because I've never seen it |

Close, _he.jungle.vip, but no cigar! 🐰
The golden egg is in row 392.
The golden egg is to the left of column 528.
But you said earlier it was to the right of column 570 ?"
Oooh controversy unfolds. As if I wasn't at the edge of my seat already! |

Please include parentheses, otherwise the bunny thinks the last digit is a carrot 🥕 and eats it!
I explained my reason here. The bunny is hungry!"
Hmmm, I'm starting to fancy rabbit stew for dinner 🤣 |

Careful, you don't want the bunny to get mad - it can throw a tantrum and give you nothing or just 1 hint (row/column). Maybe that's what this forum deserves! (would've made the game go a bit longer too, so I should've asked the bunny to be mischievous) |
