Really has turned into a complete farce when a 18 year old darts player gets a honour

Some people spend their lives doing amazing things / work to make the world a better place yet dont even get a sniff.

Remember Bowie telling them what to do with his, about time they scrapped them

Do you think an 18 year old darts player hasn’t spent his whole life working his arse off to get where he is?

Or we could just be happy for him? He won the world championship in his sport. Seems pretty impressive to me.

No doubt he has, but do you not think unsung heros who work all their lives to help others deserve more than a kid playing darts

if you want to honour a darts player do it after years at the top ffs

Also took them years to give one to Billy Boston, absolpute waste of time

There are 1200 people on the honours list. Charity workers, a professor of Astronomy, a 106 year old and many more.

I think Luke Littler has shown dedication and application. People seem to complain about the young whatever they do or achieve

Just get online and nominate anyone you think is deserving. I appreciate not everyone will get one, but if think someone's missing out, chuck in a nomination.

Scrap the honours or the scrap the royal family ?

You can do both by doing the later …

I’d imagine an 18 year old being the best in his field is sacrificing a lot.

Ive no doubt he has, but give him a honour after 10 years or so at the top if they want to.

And at the end of the day its only a pub game isnt it

Bearing in mind the Tories handed out lordships to 30yr blonde for aid to BJ I’d say all bets are off on the corrupt award scheme and it makes no never mind that occasionally a local hero will be recognised but not reported on …

The titles bestowed hark back to a bygone era and so do the royal family .. be gone with them I say

Good luck to LL but it means nothing in the overall scheme of things . But we pay for the cost of it anyway ..

If they're for people doing thankless work helping the desperate in Society, how come the Fab Mods never get one ? 🤔

Wow, to be a world champion at a pub game you still have to be a tad dedicated.

And he was just 18yrs old, that a huge achievement and a tad more dedicated than your week night darts league players who go for 10+pints

He has inspired many other to take up darts.

But yes the honour system, who cares, get rid of it.

There are tons of honours.

There are always ones for community workers and many deserving common folk.

There are lists for these things you can nominate people.

I agree that the system needs reform.

It's certainly time we dropped the Empire medals.

I have no problem with an 18-year-old world champ getting a gong. Plenty of sports types get gongs for sporting success. Lionesses etc.

If he was publishing an autobiography I'd be pissed, but he's a world champ at 18. That's worthy of a nod.

I don't think Beckham deserves a knighthood. But that's my opinion. It is clear that many here also have strong feelings on who deserved what.

It truly is a farce. I do like Claudia Winkleman , however I fail to see that she should get an MBE for services to broadcasting .....

We've all done a job ....

Maybe next time you could nominate him, can’t get a mention if he’s not nominated

Kevin Seinfeld CBE will no doubt in the future get a knighthood …. The guy epitomises what a hero really is …..

I think the word ‘empire’ should be removed from the titles. There is no empire anymore, it just clings on to the colonialism days.
