In the past I would do a lot of squats and lunges but I’ve developed wear and tear on my right knee and recently had to switch to hip thrusts.

Surprisingly I actually enjoy the exercise I like training legs and this allows me to train my legs without any knee pain.

I swapped squats out for leg press a while ago as I always got more back pain than leg development.

I’ve only ever found squats to be effective at a light weight, any more than 50, or 60 Kg and I feel the legs don’t get a work out.

If I do fancy a squat sesh I would maybe do like 5 sets of 15 with that sort of weight and my legs feel so much more worked.
