Maybe a decisive topic but ever since I split with my wife, and she got the house and everything I REALLY REALLY miss having cats round me. (It was unfair to them to try and drag them away from the home and environment they knew, even if they did always run to me and not her!)
I really miss a pair of furbabies coming to me for snuggles, pets and affection. They'd ALWAYS come to me to settle down and have a snooze. One, Elsa, refused to sleep anywhere else, even when I was relegated to sleeping on the sofa for over a year. She'd always just appear in the middle of the night, give me a paw 'boop' then rub up against my chin until I gently stroked her before snuggling down against my chest for a sleep.
It's one of the few times I felt appreciated.
It probably sounds very stupid but it was the only time I felt total unconditional love towards me.
If you're a 'cat person' then you'll understand just how much it hurts not having a loving bundle of fluff to love every night. |

I was a cat guy for a long time, wouldn't be fair to have one at the moment as I'm too busy to give the attention. I chose snakes instead because they're low maintenance and still like to snuggle. |

I can totally relate to this. When me snd my husband split up his final act of bring an absolute shit was to take my cat out of my arms and drive her from Scotland (where we were living) to his bit on the sides friend in Wales.
Loosing everything I owned didn’t hurt me but loosing her did. It’s been two years and I still cry about her, where I live now the landlord won’t allow pets. I miss the purrs as a cat sleeps on my lap, it’s a pain like no other. |

Please forgive the spelling errors in this. I actually got quite emotional writing it and didn’t proof read before hitting post |

I totally get you, sod the spelling errors. It isnt just the sleepy purrs on your lap/chest - it's the little headbutts, the gentle pawing saying 'are you ok?', the unanticipated snuggles when you're feeling down, them gorgeous little fur lined eyes looking deep into your soul when you're down.
That unexpected trill and the sudden zoomies before running back to you.
Losing shit like this really breaks your heart. |

"Is there a reason you can’t have a cat? I love my pets and wouldn’t be without them
Landlord won't allow pets, plus very close to a busy road" Could you volunteer for an hour or two at a rescue. I know it's not the same but at least you would be with cats |

Hadn't thought of that,- thank you, I'll look into it on Monday. I know there are a couple of pet rescue places nearby, I just hadn't thought of that. |

I'm sorry to read this op.
I love my cats and would hate to be without them, there's been times in my life when I've gone through alot of crap and my pets were all I had.
Are you able to see them at all?
Sending you a hug. |
