Gonna be in Lisbon for a few days shortly and wondered what recommendations you guys had for touristy things to get up to and experience whilst I'm there (as I'm sure there's a few forumers that will have visited previously)
Open to all suggestions - cultural, historical, scenic, outdoor etc.
Thanks in advance 😁 |

It's great to get up from the city centre to the Botanical Gardens. A little calmer and serene as well as like an oasis away from the dry, dusty streets.
Walk up - or get a tram - to the castle, which has a great view over the city. See the Alfama district, which is old and characterful. Sadly, many of the older residents have been priced out.
There's lots to do there, depending on temperature and your energy. It's great to hang out and soak up the atmosphere. |

The touristy tram routes can get busy, maybe aim for those in the morning. A Tuctuc ride is a good way of seeing the city. A ride out to Tour de Belem is usually on the cards for tourists. Ferry trip over the river to see the big Jesus statue over the water. |

The Glória Funicular will get you up the few hundred feet, from the lower city centre to the Bairro Alto. You can walk up but the old cars taking you up can give your legs a rest. There are 2 carriages, as one is raised, the other descends, from the top of the hill.
There used to be plenty of reasonably priced restaurants around the Bairro Alto area - look for where locals seem to be aplenty and fixed price menus. |

Thank you this is all very useful information. I am looking to do a cable car or something similar so will look into the funicular.
Explored the huge Parque Eduardo today with it's botanical gardens aswell as some of the old town. Still lots more on the to do list! |

Cheers for the recommendations so far guys.
On the list for tomorrow is Belem and the Flea (timeout) market. Will keep all other suggestions in mind if any are close by. I'm finding it's a city where there is a lot to do and see 🫡 |
