Newcastle are playing Bournemouth, with central defenders continuing to drop like flies. But the Cherries have just lost their star player and we're at home so I'm going for an uncomfortable 2-1 win. |

"I miss the time when it was FA Cup 3rd Round Saturday afternoon. ."
The magic of the cup has been slowing disappearing for about 25 years now.
I’d still love to see the Villa win it though, it’s the one trophy that I’ve never seen us win so I continue to dream! |

"Cheltenham away, I'm worried. "
We are worried about Leicester! We’ve had 3 of our best loan players go back and only just signed one replacement. Sell out though so will be a good atmosphere. Hope you enjoy your visit here |

"Hammers Vs QPR. Not looking forward to it. Preparing for relegation and this cup game is just a distraction."
I think a decent win with a strong side out could be a springboard to better PL performances, but I'd also be ok with being knocked out to avoid any distractions. But, I'm not sure they'll pull the trigger on Nuno if we lose? |

Sadly not travelling but I wish I was. Nothing like a cup draw with disaster all over it. 🙃 |

I see no point in sacking a manager halfway through the season. And with a transfer window open. I like Nuno. I also liked Potter. The problems lie with the upper management. Lack of consistent investment, lack of ambition, content with mediocrity. |

We managed to beat MK Dons last night so waiting to see who we get in the next round. I'm hoping its a league 1 or 2 team to see if we can win again to get a bit of confidence back as our Championship form has been abysmal to say the least and we desperately need to get out of the drop zone now. |

The fa cup has zero interest compared to yesteryear … it’s been both devalued and ruined by various decisions over par 20 years … odd game in. 100 is remotely interesting…. Good day out if you get there maybe but definitely lost all its magic

That’s not right, it’s Everton vs Sunderland? 🤷♂️"
Sorry, was looking at Sunderland at the time of posting, should have put Macclesfield and glad I did not say that it was going to be an easy win for us! |

"Well done Macclesfield!! Knocked out the holders! Superb!
This..
For anyone saying the competition has no magic this result is testament to it so has.. "
Unreal game!
The last time the FA cup holders were knocked out by a non league team was 1909. The non league team? Crystal Palace! |

"Embarrassing performance from us at Macclesfield, but well done to The Silkmen on a thoroughly deserved win. "
Can't disagree but will add the gesture from Palace to give their part of the gate receipts to Macclesfield is excellent..
After what Macclesfield have been through after losing Ethan Mcleod in mid December it's a hell of a day for them all.. |

Love the story of the Macclesfield owner buying the club while on a 3 day bender lol. Must be great to have that kind of money. I’m full of regret when I’m on a bender and pay £30 to get 4 cans of lager delivered on Uber |

Just hope Kamara is ok!! "
This!
Thought Spurs were like a championship team on their big day out, full of venom and mistimed tackles with their “hard man” told to kick lumps out of the shiny prem stars - they were rather embarrassing really. UTV |

Derby at home to Leeds, which will undoubtedly continue the rivalry between the two, let’s hope it’s remembered for the football and nothing else.
Personally, I think it’s a shame the competition has seemingly been devalued like it has. With so few games being shown on terrestrial tv, the interest in it will surely diminish further. Will the final itself be available for all to watch or is that going to be on subscription channels too? |

Draw for 4th round is on TNT on Monday before the Liverpool V Barnsley match , , if you not got TNT it is available on YouTube ,, I will watch it with the sound muted as I just want to see who plays who , not wanting to hear the whoops and cheers and laughs and what colour each team play in and when they last got this far in the cup ( sorry for rant ) |

"Newcastle are away to Villa. I think it could go either way, when we're at the top of our game I think we're the better side but Villa are much more consistently good "
This ref is single handily making the best case I have seen for VAR in a long time
He is having a shocker! |

I cannot understand how professional referees can be so inconsistent 🤔 |

And there is no good reason not to have VAR in a game between two premier league teams. |

As a WH supporter, VAR doesn't make a difference in dodgy decisions - refs need to be under more scrutiny and actually be accountable. |

Take it you haven't seen the Villa vs Newcastle ref/linesman blunders. |

I think the standard of refereeing in all the leagues is appalling and getting worse, yesterday’s game with villa and Newcastle highlighted this.
I can accept that the ref might sometimes miss something, but what are the linesmen or 4 th official doing, they seem too spineless to voice their opinion.
Another issue is the inconsistency, between refs, and also with one ref within a game, nothing winds the fans and players up more. |

I agree.

Actually the bbc are allowed to show more games in this round.. but decided not to because of the sports clash with the 6 nations rugby and the Winter Olympics |

Arsenal shot themselves. With a cannon. In the nuts. At close range. After standing in front of the gun. Twice. And they’ve probably got an appointment with the business end of a howitzer a couple more times this season |

Well I'm not surprised we lost to Southampton, as soon as we got them in the draw I knew we'd lose.
They have always been our bogey side losing to them seems to happen definitely when it shouldn't. |

No it bloody didn't, but I was proud of the team. And we do it all again Friday, with some players back, and hopefully some more train lines open! |
