Another one for the spontaneity. I had a dear friend who'd pick me up after lectures/work and we'd fuck any and everywhere. A quick text and yep.

I don't miss them days at all. At university I got roped into religious groups, total waste of my time and they kept me away from all the hot girls 🤦🏽♂️

Yep, echoing Éffy and Mélì's remark concerning "spontaneity". I was thinking about this the other day when, during my younger halcyon days, sex just happened. The randomness of life was better in days of yore.
Now it's more constrained — everything is planned, coordinated and prescriptive. Adulting and parenting take precedence. |

This feels like a cue to wail about my waning libido but a lot of the things we lose are replaced by other things that can bring pleasure if you let them. On the one hand I miss the feeling of possibility that you have when you're young and primed for novelty. On the other, a nice comfortable rut has a lot going for it.
Sexually, I might feel a pang of nostalgia for the electricity of attraction with a woman when you're in your 20s. In reality, young people are hard work, always wanting to have fun, and generally unappreciative of a nice sit down and a cup of tea.

The first kiss, feel, taste. When she wears your top, and you can scent her beautiful perfume the next time you wear it. A time when the world was not in a rush and it seemed so much larger, mysterious and adventurous. Writing letters to penpals across the sea, Kodak disposable cameras on holiday and waiting days for them to be developed, no phones or necessity to constantly know and search for everything instantly for things we likely didn't want or care to know, but now have the addictive impulse to know. We were more carefree as we were not exposed to 24/7 world social and main stream media and all the distractive and divisive matters it creates. Times have changed. I can't imagine people in the 2050's will look back at 2026 as the good old days unless the future is really messed up for them. Let us hope their future is bright. Remember when GTA6 came out? Those were the good old days. |
