How many chances do you give someone? Because that's 6 excuses from one person...

I've heard them all

I tend to apply the "two strikes and your out" rule

I would want to be given a second chance myself if I had a genuine reason to cancel

we made an exception too, we honestly believed the people would be worth the wait, it never happened! You're right, we all learn.

We are inclined to do that now but if the excuse sounds implausible its one strike.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

The best (worst?) one was 'sorry, I went out last night and I'm still in bed with the woman I picked up'. Oh well, at least I was sat in a nice real ale pub while I was waiting.

Two chances for me, then no more. And even then I think I'm being generous.

if you have a relative die then that is sad but personally I wouldn't be arranging to meet for a while afterwards. I've had some crap excuses. The best I had ( and this is genuine )

"It's 9pm don't you think it's a little late to meet & besides it's raining, myhair will look a mess". Needless to say he did not get a 2nd chance. xx

I would bring the dead relative along as evidence and go for the sympathy shag. Every cloud........

One strike here and expect no more from someone else.
