well after nine years of no accidents on my bike, would you believe I had two crashes in one day and only about 15 minutes between the two crashes :-$ what the fuck are the odds of that happening.

So what are your worst experiences on a motorbike ?

In Your Bush

I was riding down a concrete lane one night and the farmer had strung a chain across it. I never saw it until the last minute and I hit it just under headlight level at about 25-30 mph. Luckily my head was still attached when I came to. Bike didn't look too clever though.

Gosport

Had a spate of similar incidents around my home town when I was growing up where someone was stretching fishing line across the local bridleways. Thankfully when rode into one on my push bike I was going relatively slowly going up the hill so I was up off the saddle and it caught me on the chest.

Worst incident on a bike was T boning a car which pulled out of a side road without seeing me. I ended up in the road on the wrong side having gone over their windscreen and bonnet and smashing a kneecap somewhere on route. I consider it lucky as I didn't end up embedded in any of the hard parts of their car and no one coming the other way ran me over.

When riding my trail bike home after a surf on this hard gravel track a mate came over a knoll with some speed at a bend and I had a split second to decide should I keep going straight across his path or try turn.I went straight and wammo he hit me with the corner of his old steel bumper and sent me flying through the air. When I came around I thought my pelvis and legs were all shattered but luckily I landed in softish dirt and not on the track ,eventually all the pain left and I was ok except a few torn muscles etc.He hit me on the gear box housing and gas tank so just missed ripping my leg off and that was the last time I rode a bike. lol

funny you should say that, because that's exactly what I did last week, that was the start of my bad luck, broke an indicator brake leaver and cracked the front fairing, then just a week later after repairing the bike I had my two crashes looking on the bright side the bike got more damage than me

I've ridden for 16 years in all weathers all year round, had my first accident last summer. I was t-boned off on a roundabout, broke my femur, tore knee cartilage and ruptured a major knee ligament that needs reconstructing. Sorry I didn't see you didn't go down well when I was lying in the road!!

i was off road on grass on an old golf course i went over the edge of a old golf bunker. Bear in mind this is on grass...i went one way, bike went the other i woke up lying on my back concussed...end result broke both hips, opened my pelvis cartlidge, broke my shoulder blade and badly brusied both knees. Typical high speed motro bike accident i was told by the surgeon.

i spent a week in hospital flat on my back in bed, then had an 11 hour operation to rebuild my pelvis. After 6 weeks i could get out of bed and go in a wheel chair, after another 3 i was on crutches, after another 3weeks i could walk again....

All that from a mountain bike accident!!

Nearly being killed by an unlicensed, uninsured woman driving an MOTed car that told a court that the crash was my fault...

And I quote: "I could not see him because his headlight dazzled me!"

oh I have heard I didn't see you s few times over the years, it never goes down well ha ha. the women in the Freelander that almost hit me was going way to fast for a single track road and she had her kids in the car, lucky for her it happened because just two minutes latter a land rover come down the road heading onto her, she would probably have had a head on with him if it hadn't been with me.

Eastbourne

I was riding along a dual carriageway (A270), I was aproaching an inter section where a road cut across my lane. About 20 foot away from the junction a woman pulled out in front of me, I hit the brakes but couldn't scrub much speed off. I hit the car and both just on the front wheel, both.me and the bike went over the bonnet of the car. The bike landed on the far side of the car, I landed on the back of my head and rolled. The bike was a right off, I got concussion, whiplash and a blister on the little toe of my left foot. I got off lucky in my eyes due to relaxing just before the impact. That happened when I was 26, I still ride bikes.

worst experience i have had was pulling off on my brand new bike, outside my parents house, and forgetting i had my disklock still on.

half a wheel turn and the bike stopped immediately.

looking up at my parents laughing at me is no fun.

i have been lucky so far.

Away with the fairies (Liverpool to you)

We were knocked off our bike when a d*unken woman tried to do a u turn to use an exit on a roundabout in Chester. She was d*unk, her fella was more d*unk and their three kids were in the back not strapped in!

Pete landed under the bike and I slid about 20m down the road.....I was on my side looking at him...he got up...looked at the bike...kicked the woman's car a few times....picked up the bike and looked it over....THEN he looked over at me to see me crawling towards him on my hands and knees - bikers!!!! Still marred him though

20 years ago, had just bought my first brand new bike, a harley 883 sportser.only had it a week took it out for a sunday cruise, on a short stretch of due carriageway when and old escort mk1 that was in front of me in the outside lane suddenly stoped ,later found out the rear diff seazed at 50 miles an hour giving me nowhere to go but the back end of the escort .the bike and I parted company, I remember sailing through the air over the car thinking he should wash all the bird shit off his roof !!!! Next thing im waking up in hospital with pins holdin both legs to gether like an erector set

I survived hitting a car at 50mph, escaped with a fair few breaks and ruptures, 3 year recovery process...

Saw my beautiful bike smash into pieces like a glass breaking...

Nasty memories are better than not being here at all.

Have lost a few good friends on the bikes, safe journeys to all fab riders x
