Why on earth anyone would want to work on a cruise ship is beyond me.

Treated like shit, paid a pittance, bunked up in the bowels of the ship with god knows who from god knows where and worked to death.

On the plus side you do get to see the world as you are scrubbing the decks.

having done this before I think you would appreciate a job here more. It is unbelievably hard work and when u look at hrs worked/£ u realise you're a mug for taking the job. Most people take other jobs.on ship like cleaning cabins just to actually feel like good money.coming.in.

it's not worth it. Take care

Beware,

The pay is crap, Food is left over rubbish from the passengers and your crew quarters will be pretty awful, sharing it with the some random dude . They will hold you to ransom with an extortionate amount of money to go home if you can't hack it. The only compensation you'll get is once a week you get to spend some time in a somewhere exotic around the world. Oh yes they'll promise tips, but most cruises say tips included but you never actually get to see your tips. This might have been a more dodgy cruise line but the passengers lived in absolute luxury while the crew live in cramped, squalid conditions. My partners daughter survived it and made some great friends, A lot of that though was because there were all in it together and the human spirit came through.

Be very careful and do some research before you take the first job offered is my advice.

Titz Towers, North Notts

My best mate's partner did it for a few years and it sounds very ropey. She ended up becoming a heavy drinker as the reality was fairly grim. Mind you she did make me laugh when she was telling me about an American lady asking if they had anyone in her shop who spoke English on encountering her Scouse friend for the first time....
