I am after some advice on which part of London to book a hotel for NYE. From what ive looked at we should try and make our way to the Embankment for the best view, initially I was looking at the Belgravia area to be out of the congestion zone but then I read its all free driving in London after xmas day to NY day???
Ive also been looking at hotels near Charing Cross and Westminster stations, ideally I would not wanting to be waking more than a mile back to hotel as I know the tubes will be busy. |

Embankment is ticketed this year so you can't just turn up like in previous years.
Tubes will run all night though so you don't neccesarrily need to stay overly central |

Last time I went to London for NYE was Millennium Eve, never again!!
Got there about 6pm, stood on Westminster Bridge for 6 hours, unable to wee or even hardly move. Then 15 mins of fireworks, then a 4 hour journey back to the edge of London. Massive anti-climax as we entered 2000. Vowed never to be anywhere near Central London on NYE again!
But hopefully you'll have a much better time!! Enjoy |

So would near westminster bridge be a good spot to try and aim for to watch the fireworks?
