So I've got a house full on Saturday with my gorgeous family 8 of us to celebrate my birthday which is next Wednesday.,,,any how I'm doing a ploughmans lunch....Now what do you guys think is imperative to have as part of a ploughmans lunch?

Fresh crusty granary bread, a few cheeses but especially a good cheddar, pickled onions (home made if possible), a salad, chutney (red onion is lovely). Oh and a knob or two of real butter.

try and see if you can get one from a butchers the best are Dickinson and morris but you can only get them at there shop. If you can't get a butchers one you can get a pork farms one from a supermarket. Can't you tell I'm territorial about my pork pies

Some pork pies have hard boiled egg in, so you could have that type too as an alternative. Hard boiled egg, sliced up, would go well with ploughman's too.
