Defrosting in the microwave.

No it won't be minging. Problem is ( I find ) that micro defrosting causes heat to build up in the centre of the joint. The smell is prob partially cooked beef. For me .. I wouldn't roast it now - it's a bit like cooking the middle twice. I'd boil it for ten mins only. Lower the gas to a simmer and add onions , carrots and other roots. Simmer slowly for at least three hours.....delicious and not too dry ..for an extra taste add a good half bottle of wine and reduce the water xxx |

You see this is where you've failed. You didn't decide last night what you were having for dinner tonight. Had you done that then you could have removed your beef from the freezer and had it defrosting naturally, the healthy way so that you won't give yourself food poisoning.
Even if you had got out your bed earlier today you could have had it defrosting while you were mincing round watching Criminal Minds, admiring your new soft furnishings!
