In other news, local baker removes barms from oven.

Isn't rescuing people in peril at sea what coastguards are supposed to do?

Oh, I assumed it was d*unken holidaymakers, and was about to make a crack about 'Dim'-church,

but the word 'midnight' and the phrase 'UK border agency' rather killed that joke.

Good to know. Hopefully those rescued folk are safe and well and can get on with building lives away from circumstances so horrific they are willing to risk their lives to escape them.

Who knows, some of thone menfolk might even find freedom enough to enjoy dressing as women without fearing for their lives.

They were in the channel.....therefore safe to assume they had come from France...so we're already a long long way from any "peril" they were escaping.... If genuine asylum seekers they should follow international rules and have already claimed asylum....or, more likely, economic migrants?

Maybe safer than stowing in the back of a refrigerated lorry. I'm surprised more haven't taken to that route from France.

If you'd ever tried sailing in the English channel you'd know why not many try it, it's choppy, cold, busy and has really strong currents

.

Let's think outside the box then?.

.

We've got three main problems facing the world today.

1 a tanking world economy

2 a booming third world population

3 climate change causing change in habitat.

.

These are not unfixable problems but they are unfixable using a current thinking!.

.

Middle ground politics is about to be utterly swamped by circumstances

Try solving any of these problems without one world government... It's impossible.

The fact is if you want population to come down... Give women education and jobs!.
