Roll up roll up, come to sams confession box and be forgiven(or maybe not)

My boy was at primary school when he was discussing childhood pets with his friends and teacher.

He told them about the goldfish that I'd won for him at the fair that had lived for 7 years and had changed size and colour at least 5 times

The teacher even asked me about it at parents evening

Reminds me if the couple who we're looking after the neighbours house and found there rabbit on the lawn dead and in a chewed up state !

They bought one from the vets that was a similar size and colour and put it in the hutch as they didn't dare tell them the truth

When the neighbours returned they were a little confused as the rabbit had died before they went away so they had buried it but the dog had dug it up

"I tried it with the cat but the kids noticed"

They would do if you replaced it with a goldfish

I told my boys that we have a Diced Carrot Gland in our bodies, since...well, you know...!

When my oldest did biology in secondary school, he cottoned on. He was most annoyed that I had lied for so long.

I also said that under-18s were not allowed to eat chewing gum...

Bad Mummy!

Always used to tease my kids that if the ice cream van was playing music it meant it had sold out

"Told mine the old one about the ice cream van plays it's music to tell everyone it's out of ice cream"

This must be a common one? We've said this too.

I "moved" my then 3 year olds birthday forward a day so I could attend an evening function I really wanted to go to...

Bless her she was confused for ages.*

My daughter who is profoundly deaf decided to take up playing the recorder in primary school ( many years ago)

I was mortified when I went to a parents evening and got told off for telling her to practise in her bedroom!!! can't believe she dobbed me in .
