Without churches there'd be no slate for the chavs to nick off the roofs and then they'd come and nick mine, so I'm 100% in favour of keeping churches.

Can bring a lot of comfort & support...not that I have ever experienced that, but I know others that have.

Also I think that religion is fine, it's just the followers have screwed it up with ego, mis-information & greed.

Personally I'd say I'm more spiritual than religious.

Oh & you have to keep in mind the largest charities have been run by religious groups (eg the the red cross, the salvation army etc), not always a good thing, but at least they have saved a hell of a lot of lives.

As long as their beliefs aren't shoved down others throats, who cares!

Actually when we say "the pope"... surely we dont mean anyone specific but rather the insitution over the centuries?
