"What are you actually scared of?"

Was on a plane when I was about 3. We had to have an emergency landing as we lost 2 of our 4 engines.

Never flown since. So everything.

To the suggestion of hypnosis. No can do as I don't go under. Tried for a few things and nope.

And not flying isn't an option.

There and to the left a bit

I used to be awful at flying and would work myself into a state before going - then had to do several trips for work in a short space of time that involved flights, and that cured it for me as I realised there was absolutely nothing to be scared of - helped that I had someone talk me through all the different bumps and noises that would set me on edge and to realise they were just normal parts of the routine.

Maybe try a fear of flying class where they do something similar OP?

In cave behind a waterfall on a hill

If you really want to cure the fear there is a guaranteed way if doing it.

Find a flying school go up on s trial flight take the controls....

And fly the plane.

There's a qualified pilot next to you. You will be safe. It will conquer your fears...

But it's addictive

nooooooo that's even worse... Big planes... I know equal very few accidents considering... Small planes.. Equal larger amounts of accidents and only got a few weeks before I fly. Lol

My logical brain says I do 20k a year on the roads and that means I am much more likely to crash on there.

I'm not scared of being locked on the plane.. I think its more the what ifs. Yet I never get in my car and overly worry.

I have no choice but to manage it this year. As I have two trips I'm really excited for but I got the confirmation and felt fear as well as excitement

The onky way to overcome any fear is face it head on.

The logic you already know.

The fear it's the irrational part.

Only by facing it do you overcome it.

fear isnt irrational though.. Not when you have been in a situation previously.. I keep trying to tell myself the odds of problems on a plan are really low... So the chances of being on a 2nd one that Has issues are even lower... But this little panic comes up.

I am going to do it but as my first time I am going with my young daughter. Hoping mum mode will prevail. ( she happens to love flying)

Bollox. I know plenty of ppl with flying fears. They still fly but never get over it. If your scared of heights and do a parachute jump the fear wont be gone
