I’ve seen a few folk say that people under a certain age shouldn’t be on fab. I’ve only ever seen these posts directed at young men.
In a sense I agree, as the young men I’ve seen these comments directed too are quite immature. But, I’m 21, and I’ve never had someone tell me I’m too young. I also like to think that I’m not too young. I’ve seen people age 40+ be extremely immature on the forums, yet they are ‘old enough’ to be on fab.
Do you think fab should have a minimum age? |

No there should be no age issues
If someone joins site above 18 it shouldn’t make an issue at all if someone old enough to have sex and make their own choice why should age be issue |

There and to the left a bit |
I think as with anything there are some very mature 18 year olds, and conversely there are some very immature people much older than that - and both those things are shown regularly on the forums and Fab in general (particularly the latter!!).
I personally think that someone in their late teens should really be out enjoying the world and discovering sex and sexuality with people their own age, naturally and progressively as I did, and am not sure that *most* people of that age are truly ready to understand the swinging lifestyle and deal with it emotionally and otherwise.
That said though, I'm not sure it would be right to increase the lower age limit either - regardless of what some might think, the site has moved on from being purely about swinging and has the added elements of NSA meets etc - and there are *some* younger people who may choose to use it that way, so providing that outlet for them, as well as everyone else, makes perfect sense. |

I agree with this. If I turn my filters off (which I do occasionally) and younger men message me and I tell them I’m not interested, it tends to be ‘but you’re on a swinging site’. Yep, doesn’t mean I will fuck anyone who’s interested I’m afraid. I do get those types of messages from older men too, but it does tend to be the younger men |

I think that the majority of fab forumites are in the 40s area and obviously love to have and give an opinion and think that the younger age groups 18-25 should be out forming possibly healthy relationships with people in their own age groups and mind sets but such is life, people all people and age groups can do as they please as long as they are respectful of others.
I myself had thought you were older as a result of comments you have made in forums but you can do as you see fit pay no mind to others opinions they are just as valid or not as yours |

Well I’m sorry if I somehow lead you to believe that. Without tooting my own horn, I do like to think I’m quite mature.
And yeah I totally get your point. And to a degree, I agree. But then I think I’m 21, married, I’ve formed healthy relationships, and I have an open marriage. Why shouldn’t I be on here?
I reckon if they had a minimum age, say 25, a lot of folk would easily lie about their age. I’ve came across a profile where the age was 20, but he made a point of saying his actual age was 18. He had been on fab for a few years and had verifications from two years ago. Meaning he was sixteen |

You are very mature for your age OP. I don't think people should be casting judgement on what age they think is suitable to be on a swinging site. It's an adult site. That would mean 18+. I may not meet under 30, but that doesn't mean i think they shouldn't be here. That's not my call or judgement to make |

"Are we talking abt mental age ?
I shouldn't be on here then "
To be horribly serious for a moment, when I briefly had a couples profile we had contact with a ‘couple’ that seemed very much like a vulnerable woman with little life experience and a man grooming her for swinging sex. I think I reported it, although couldn’t really see what fab could do about it.
Apologies for being so solemn. |

I think even if there were a lower age limit it would just encourage lying about lower age ranges, just as people do about the upper ones too. There is no way for fab to effectively monitor or police ages without direct verification so it’s all kind of moot.
Having said that though the lower age range is kind of self policing anyway as many people won’t meet people in lower age brackets, certainly younger guys seem to struggle. |

When they have a low mental age, yes I think they can. |

18 seems right to me in terms of safety. Well in lue of a system that can detect mental readiness as we all develop at a different rates and have different life experiance. As for maturity have people not the right to be immature as long as they do no harm? We are all different with different personas. Why exclude people or age groups perceived as being immature? Surely fab is a free market and simply the success or failure of those deemed 'immature' will rest on demand for such types. To start grouping and labling certain demographics seems mean, descrimative and unfair on the individual level. |

Maybe immature was the wrong word to use. Because we can all be immature! I can’t quite think of how to word it...
If a 20 year old man moans he isn’t getting fab, there’s comments about how he is too young for fab (amongst other comments).
If a 40 year old man makes the same post, there’s no comments (that I’ve seen anyway) about his age. Both have the same issue, yet the younger man is told ‘it’s because you’re too young!’
If that makes sense? |

That's the trouble it doesn't make sense to me. Why is fab like this? Well are all different and in different life statages. I don't like the attitude of beating the young. Or as you rightfully pointed out young males. There just seems an attitude on here that hates young men. Although fab seem quite happy with young women. Now I get that young men and immature attitudes are not popular but thats not a problem as its a free market. I just dont see the need to bash young men for being young men. Or the need to say this isn't the site for them or exclude them. They are who they are and the site should be inclusive. If you don't like them and what they have to say simples don't fuck them. |

To discriminate against one group just on one metric seems pointless.
Whether that is age, ethnicity, sexuality etc. etc.
Everyone is different, so allow everyone to manage their own lives and make their own decisions. There are tools within the site to allow you to filter those you personally do not wish to meet (for what ever reason).
That seems a better approach than a blanket ban, because a sub-group of a particular grouping are not attractive to other some people...

Always find it strange the other end of the age range... Meet 18 to 99! Really so 98/99 brilliant however once you're 100 its a letter from the Queen and no chance on fabswingers, shame on fab lol |

The problem is that very few people will meet very young men. There's not many couples or single women on here under thirty (you're obviously an exception) and most people over thirty will not meet blokes in the 18-20 age bracket.
Hence the reality is that men in that age group are very unlikely to get meets. If they want casual sex, they are best off looking for it elsewhere. |

I found it hard on an old profile to get meets, I was 25 at the time and it seemed that most women had set age to 30+ so I couldn’t message most of them.
Though to be fair I can understand the lack of interest in younger guys, I was a mess till around 27/28 |

Ha hey grouping labelling making assumptions and judging people are a fact of life in this lifestyle and until you actually meet the people concerned if ever you will not change their thoughts, people judge you on your written word, people judge you on your veris, people judge you on your sexual choices and people judge you on your age, I'm a nice person but I'm comfortable in my own skin so hopefully the Op and her young years is comfortable in hers and whatever anyone else thinks matters not |

18 is the accepted age to consider somebody an adult so the minimum age is correct. Unfortunately some very immature people bring the entire younger generation down with them.
I chat with a lovely 18 year old, would I want to play with him? Good grief no... But for somebody he will be perfect.
Where I get concerned is when younger members vent their frustrations and appear desperate. The ones who are clearly inexperienced and constantly seeking advice. They are way to young to be feeling like that about a bloody website. Get out in the real world and find a nice girl (sadly it is usually men like this) to explore the world and sex with, together. For those few immature souls I don't think a site like this offers a healthy environment to learn.
Fabswingers can be great fun but it can also be soul destroying, self esteem sapping and it can give a very twisted impression of relationships. |

I think young men get the hard end of the stick where as young women are welcomed with both hand and a cock.
In regards of people being immature in forums, that doesn’t mean they are immature in real life. I just like to have fun in forums as serious is too boring |

Nobody has the right to tell anyone over 18 they think they’re too young to be here.
I can only presume they think they’re also too young to pay tax too.
Or is their level of maturity only relevant to what fits their opinion |

I've met a few men under the age of 25 from here, and they were all mature of mind and very good sexual partners. None of them felt they had something to prove in bed and were naturally erotic and passionate; which is what I like.

The age should be 18. It’s not up to anyone but the adult themselves to decide if they are “too young” for Fabswingers. That’s ridiculous.
If an 18 year old wants to join Fab for genuine reasons they should be able to without being patronised.
I’ve just turned 25 and I’ve had a couple of messages from patronising older men asking why I’m on here and why aren’t I out in nightclubs looking for guys... yet in the next breath they went to meet... and then they start putting fine guys my own age & bigging themselves up as if it’s going to make me want to meet them.
Young or not, as adults were are capable of making our own decisions as long as we are in the right head space, I don’t think it’s right for anyone older or younger to tell another person that they shouldn’t be on here.
I’ve come across many mature guys my own age and many many immature older men, so just goes to show there is no correlation when it comes to maturity and age. |

I get the exact same sometimes (older men asking why I’m on here). I’ve never been told I’m too young, but it’s been implied and I’ve been asked why I’m not out. Erm, because I’m in my jammies in bed? |

Hahaha I am exactly the same!
PJs, glass of wine, bit of Netflix, usually end up falling asleep half way through, bed!
I am totally due a night out though! "

You do kind of wonder if there should be a bit more vetting on a community like this - I guess I'd probably fail for a few reasons.
Not sure it's down to age - as some have said, emotional maturity is probably a better measure. |

"Why 18 not 16?"
18 is an adult.
Swinging clubs are 18+ as they may involve alcohol etc, and also if there are pictures being taken of sexual activity it would be illegal if the person is under 18... so in my opinion it’s only right to have the age set at 18.
I can’t see a positive reason why anyone would want the age to be 16 tbh. I know it’s the age of consent and all, but morally I don’t think it’s an appropriate age for sites like this. |

"I’ve seen a few folk say that people under a certain age shouldn’t be on fab.
Yes. It should be 18. |

Granny, do you agree that there should also be an upper limit? |

"18 is the accepted age to consider somebody an adult so the minimum age is correct.
Fabswingers can be great fun but it can also be soul destroying, self esteem sapping and it can give a very twisted impression of relationships."
