I am, it is the international chest day. I have already been there earlier and I did a full body workout. I switched excerzises and instead of doing preacher curls for the biceps I did standing cable curls, what are your routine? I got a good pump

Go to a gym, explain you're new, have no idea what to do, you'll be given an induction session.

A member of staff will show you round, explain all the equipment & machines, demonstrate how to use them.

If you're not offered that, find another gym.

Should have been squats this morning but I a swapped shifts with a colleague.

I've not long been home, not eaten since 11am.

I don't have the energy to go now

Go to a gym, explain you're new, have no idea what to do, you'll be given an induction session.

A member of staff will show you round, explain all the equipment & machines, demonstrate how to use them.

If you're not offered that, find another gym. "

This. My gym has staff roaming around who'll show you what to do as well.

Online guides aren't foolproof (proceed with caution), but also are sometimes better than nothing.

I'm ill at the moment but hope to be back in the gym in a few days. I do cardio, balance work (injury related), an upper body and a lower body weight day.

Somewhere near London

Knackered today from yesterday's 20 mile run. Short and sharp interval session planned for tomorrow and Thursday to put some zip back in my legs after that slog. Wednesday night will be weights (nothing more slecific than all tge machines!) followed by a run home. It's unusual I do 3 nights in the same week!

6, 20 or however many miles you ride it doesn't matter. You still went out for a ride. I can't wait until my days off again so I can get back in the saddle, I miss my bike

OMG preacher curls as drop sets to failure used to be my favourite "

Yes it is my favourite bicep excersize as you can really add on the weights on the drop sets

I must ad that my gym is in my bedroom! I don't do gym to get massive or toned. Looks uncomfortable. I'm happy with muscly with a bit of podge.

I throw in overloads on a different body part once a week. Good for either barbell or machines.

Example for chest:

50 reps with bar. (20kg)

40 reps @ 30kg

30 reps @ 40kg

20 reps @ 50kg

10 reps @ 60kg

Then reverse it. I throw in 60 sec speed rope between each set.

The weight isn't huge, but it works out at 300 reps.

rear delt is my fav machine. Free weights are more beneficial compared to machines generally. More natural range of motion and helps muscles to stabilise.

Decided I now need a quick snack. 10minutes later, I'm heading out.

Open my door to the project manager & building inspector!

40 mins later, they're still debating where they can run the pipes to fit new radiator in my wetroom

It seems it would be easiest to go along top of the kitchen wall & in at the corner

That would be the kitchen wall, I've just had plastered?

Piss up in a brewery comes to mind!

I don't like bench day, but I have stress I need to work off now.. If I ever get there

Yes free weights are good and with some machines. I also like doing rear delts. I like the burn you get

Full body workouts are the best, select 7 excersizes, train 3 times a week, cos then you get the best recovery time with the protein synthesis recovery time of 96hrs a week.

I admit I did feel good when the guys in my weights room stopped laughing at me and started accepting that I was serious

I'm mostly in the diddy weights still, but every time I go I get stronger.

Today was deadlift day.

Not had the best of weeks, needed to push myself, work out some anger.

Added my weekly 2.5kg increase.

Bar flew up, added another 5kg, still too easy. Another 2.5kg.

Then did double my set reps.

Collapsing, breathless on the floor at the end.

Best I've felt in a very long time

Maybe you just need to start slower. Work on getting your form right for your squats. Maybe you need your legs further apart and try adjusting your feet position. Slowly increase your squat depth over time with bodyweight only before adding weights such as a kettlebell or holding a dumbbell in front of you before gradually working your way up to using a bar.

Same with lunges. I also found that working on my core helped improve my lunges.

But no, I'm currently on meds that are making me feel constantly nauseous (and don't mix well with alcohol!)

I've been given anti sickness meds to combat the first.

If I jumped up down right now I'd rattle.

Yeah, anything over 5 is high reps for me. Needs to be done but I don't like it.
