"It’s amazing that people doubt it happened.

Do you know, I used to believe it and I kinda still do as its a pretty elaborate hoax but I just wonder why we have never been back. |

Like you Lorna, I think it was an amazing feat, I'm sure it did happen.
As for not going back, I wonder if the cost was too prohibitive by comparison to the danger of strapping people to the top of a big rocket and hoping for the best |

The first landing really captured the public imagination but once it had been done a few times the novelty wore off. No one remembers the third successful ascent of Everest etc.
It was a bit of a vanity project and it was incredibly expensive.
Now that NASA are considering manned missions to Mars the moon will come back into play as a place to launch from. |

Oh that's interesting and makes a lot of sense. Are you even close to be able to get to Mars. I saw a program once that said it could only ever be a one way trip. |

NASA has a presidential order to land people on Mars by 2033, whether that happens or not remains to be seen but they are working on it.
The Russians and Chinese (separately) have both targeted around 2050 to do the same. |

They did go back.
Obviously Apollo 11 was the first, but Apollo 12, 14, 15, 16 and 17 all included men walking on the moon. There have been 12 men in total.

Why do we need to spend billions going back? We’ve ascertained that it’s a lump of rock. Isn’t the money better spent else where? |

There are two main reasons to go back:
1- The moon could be used as a Launch-Pad for travelling to Mars.
2- There are valuable resources there that will be mined to make someone very wealthy.
Further into the future, there will probably be tourist trips to the moon, and an international Moon-Base too.

Well my personal opinion is, rather then spending billions on traveling to dead and desolate worlds, let’s use the resources to help our earth. We live on the most beautiful planet in the universe. |

It is very much Human Nature to explore the limits of our reach, to seek out answers and search for new and better. If we didn't do that, then we would be still living in caves and mud huts, travelling only as far as we can walk, and eating only what we can hunt & forage.

It’s all faked
But seriously if we did land on the moon 50 yrs ago it was an amazing feat, but I am sceptical
How did we get past the van allen belts ??
If humans were exposed they would die of exposure to radioactivity??
Guess the Apollo crafts must have been lead lined?? |

If you don't understand something why not research it rather than just say it can't have happened.
They obviously can as it been done .
Instead of googling shit look on science based sites |

No... apollo 11 weighed in at over 2 million kg. It's mass is irrelevant as long as you can produce enough thrust to move it.
