Bedford Social - 18th March - Is on!

Welcome to hopefully the first of many HFSB Bedford Socials, it’s been a long time since the last event was in the town & we’d like to offer thanks to the previous host Angel Nude for her kind words & advice.
So down to the essentials,
Where – A Central Bedford Location, good selection of drinks & DJ from 2100 for those with their dancing shoes. (Location will be shared with those confirmed on the day).
When – Saturday 18th March @ 1930-2300.
Ratio’s – As with most things on fab, Single Males will always outnumber the other profiles, rest assured that the mix attending will be well balanced as we do have a maximum capacity at the venue.
Staying or driving - There are many hotels in the town centre, all within 5-10 min walk. Car parking is not available at the venue, but there are public car parks/on street parking within a 3 – 4 min walk.
As a bit of a thank you & a way of supporting our local club, we are also really pleased to be able to offer discounted entry to The Vanilla Alternative to any couple (must have a couple’s profile) or single female (£10 & £5 discount respectively) that attend & may want to continue their evening at the club – unfortunately this does not apply to single males as they are not allowed on a Saturday evening. Please come & speak to us on the night to collect the voucher, these are only valid on the 18th March.
We all have lives outside of this crazy place & we know that stuff can get in the way of attending, but we would really appreciate a quick message saying you can no longer make it instead of just not showing up, no shows without informing us will bar you from attending future socials. We are very aware about the cost of living & want these to be a fee free event, please don't force us to have to take deposits.
We will set up a telegram group a week before for those that may want to partake in such shenanigans

Absolutely blown away by the response to this little get together, we are getting near our capacity for numbers though, once this is filled we will be running a wait list for those that still would like to come along.

Just a quick ask from VA - please could you send us your membership No. if you are thinking about going to the club after the social, it doesn’t matter if you don’t go, but they would like to keep track their end just incase anyone tries to chance their luck saying they’ve attended when they haven’t.

Bedford gets a bad rep at times, some of it self inflicted but often it’s vastly overshadowed by Milton Keynes & Cambridge due to the great shops, nightlife and activities on offer.
There has been a mini revival with lots of independent bars/restaurants/shops which are trying to promote the town.
If anyone wants some local knowledge of great places to eat, drink, visit while here then please just ask away |

So we’ve had a few private messages asking about good places to eat, easier to post a list of our favourite spots:
Rice - great traditional Thai restaurant, limited numbers & probably need to book ahead. St Cuthberts Street. (Weeping tiger is exceptional)
Pizzeria Santaniello - no frills pizza that’s as close to Italy without being there! Newnham Street.
Amici - amazing Italian food cooked by Nona (80+ year old woman) good wholesome food. St Peter’s Street.
Herd - mmmmmmm burgers form the gods! Garlic fries are epic (probably not the best if you’re planning on snogging later though). St Cuthberts Street.
The Higgins Pantry - tapas that takes you back to Spain, picky bits that can get expensive if you’ve got some hungry vibes. Castle Lane.
The Embankment & D’Parys are more traditional gastro pub style, wait times can be long as everything cooked fresh.
If you want a treat - Bear & Tails Cocktail bar is one of the best we’ve been to outside of London, be prepared to take out a 2nd, 3rd & possibly 4th mortgage if you’re buying a round….. made that mistake once without realising the price - £150 for 12 drinks…. Ooft!

What they are asking is, are you actually on the list for this event as a single man. If you're not, by asking if any single lady going would like to go with you, you are trying to get in via "back door". The limits that the organisers set are there for a reason. |
