Hi All,
I've noticed a lot of you pervs around the Reading and surrounding areas, wondering if any of you would be interested in arranging a social get together in a pub, i.e. non playing social. With a balance of guys and gals.

It's about 20 / 30 minutes from Reading, but the social is on 25/4 |

OP is trying to keep the venue secret until closer to the date. Supposedly to keep uninvited single men away.
However the choice of venue could well determine whether we attend. |

Again, depends largely on the venue. There’s some places that have private / hireable rooms. We went to one in B’stoke a few years back that was fun. Just chatting with like minded folks. The mix was good, only five or six single men so it didn’t feel threatening in any way. |

There’s a vibrant active social group in Oxford. - Oxford socials
Regular meets , parties, club outings, even coffee mornings
It’s mainly Cpl’s but some events open to all
Lively WhatsApp group too
Next event is Good Friday with us joining up with Ignite socials |

We think this is the key, along with the venue. If it's just a normal bar / pub open to all then we don't think it'll work. OP - when will you be releasing the venue and mix of people?

I only just saw about this just now. Having been to other group socials before (fleet and basingstoke) I will say the idea of a waiting list for single guys feels extremely exclusionary. Sounds like a different venue is required. Suspect last nights was too noisy to make decent conversation.
From our perspective we'd prefer a Saturday as work takes priority in the week. |

Saturdays worked well with the former Reading socials i attended, was usually an afternoon and often went on to the evening or people moved on to other places

Not a great venue from noise perspective but to be fair on a Friday night in a central location you’d struggle to find somewhere (except a Spoons) that doesn’t have loud music.
