It has come to my attention that some people think that this is a 'pub crawl' this is NOT the case. The venue that it will be held in, is the venue that we will be staying at all night. If people wish to go to a different club/pub, that will be upto YOU. Not what I have organised xx |

thanks all for last night.
was a good night and i enjoyed meeting everybody i talked to, probably cant remeber everybodys names today as feeling a bit fragile.
will definatly make a bigger efforet in the future to get out more and come to events like this and get in the chat rooms more.

Or even if not in Plymouth, what are the chances of Exeter? I know there's a few of us here and it might be a bit easier for some of the north Devon and Somerset people as well... Bit gutted I missed the last one, didn't get an invite though idk if my message got overlooked but everyone is so categorical about the 'if you don't hear back assume it's a no' rule on here I didn't ask again. |

Good question. I have no frame of reference for previous Fab socials having not been, but I assume being fairly new/male/unverified/have never met any of my fellow local members if I were to arrange a venue and post up a date and time, nobody would show. Whereas I imagine when certain other people organise a social, other people will be more likely to show up. Don't get me wrong I'm more than happy to do it, I'm just not sure that at this point in my Fab career, that I'm the person for the job. |

Rubbish. Men need to make the effort and actually turn up, hence my suggestion about you guys organising socials in your areas rather than waiting for others to do it. Be more pro-active lol. |

No I am being a bit facetious but I know from my nightclub promoting days that if you have a woman as the 'face' of the promotion, the engagement from other women is considerably larger. If a woman is organising it there is way less risk of it being a sausage fest.
Like I said before I'm happy to be involved setting something up but by the same token I'm sure the overall response/turnout would be better if things were arranged by someone who is less of an un-known quantity to the local community... |

I think us boys can get something rolling! I am back down to Devon just after Easter and I think if we wait for the schools to go back we can get something in place.
Me and Mrs Speaker, honourable members an indicative vote please..

Baring in mind that after this one there can only be seven more posts before the thred closes, there won't be much chance for people to vote.
Having organised socials before I would recommend that anyone thinking of doing so just takes the plunge and states the date and location. You'll never please everyone and plenty of people wont sign up if there is doubt about it happening.
Just go firm on a place and date, and then publicise it - just like the first post of this thread. |
