They have been critical, but now lockdown is easing its back to scheduled programming.

A political matter? The decisions been made are purely political, they have been made to keep people like yourself placated so when the next election happens you will be voting for them or some other right wing party as usual.

I'm well aware how serious it is, just funny that they want to take the EU's lead. If you can't see the irony in that..

Hi. The article to which you refer simply refers to experiences of opening schools in other European countries . It also remarked on how obstructive teachers unions have been to reopening schools.

Hyorcrisy does not even enter the equation . It is simply a comparison with other European countries.

However congratulation on being a Daily Mail reader. You have made a very wise choice of newspaper . Well done.

. Hi. Would that matter ? Any keyboard warrior can type what they consider to be insults. What actually matters is what you do in real life, not insults typed on a computer screen.

.I buy the newspaper in a number of different locations and to date no newsagent has ever refused to sell it.

An indication of the success of the Daily Mail is that fact that they have managed to increase market share in a declining market. In any event to use your terminology there is nothing wrong in being dim and having dodgy views ( whatever that is supposed to mean) .

So your arguments are:

It's good because it's popular, just over 1 million a day. Most of the rest of us, 65.5 million, would suggest that those 1 mil are confused.

And that there is nothing wrong with being dim and having dodgy views.

Bizarre.

I am seriously beginning to question whether this is some kind of sexual perversion that Pat is indulging in here - the relentless pursuit of deluded notions and the humiliation he receives from it are a bit obsessive - perhaps he is missing some regular visits to his local dungeon?

Increasing share of a diminishing market suggests to me that the readers of the mail are perhaps older and less flexible and perhaps struggle to read tablets - a couple more years of coronavirus might change the mails market share drastically - especially given youth unemployment is skyrocketing at the moment but I am sure you cannot even begin to contemplate where that is heading (I will give you a clue - a moderate labour leader and a disgruntled but well educated mass of young people - what does that Herald?)

. It would be interesting to know what research you undertook before writing your comment. Any business that has increased market share in a declining market would consider it to be a good result. The only point that might require further investigation would be the operating margins and the reasons for any material movement in it.

The Daily Mail has existed for a very long time and it is inevitable that readers will die. They are simply replaced by readers from a younger generation. . This is what has happened for at least 50 years, why should it be any different now.

The Daily Mail can also be subscribed to in tablet format. Why would the older generation be unable to use tablets- lots do. ?

In addition the Daily Mail website is the most visited newspaper website . This tends to indicate to me that they are doing most things right.

You know that this just means that their decline is slower than the others. IE it's still on the decline?

Are you familiar with the term "click bait"? The Daily Mail are very good at it. This is not the measure by which to suggest that the Daily Mail is a good news paper.

Here's an interesting article that demonstrates that popularity does not correspond with quality. (Quality based on academic judgements of accuracy and based on the number of complaints)

Pat won't have anything like the truth said about his beloved Bible, daily mail..

I have laid out in detail before of cases where they have paid compensation out of court, been sanctioned by the pcc and ipcc and of cases that went to court and the had to apologise and pay out..

But pat refused to accept saying it was all false and his usual bizarre thing of anything we read on sites like this is not real..

Hi. I guess you must be confusing me with another poster. Any compensation claim or complaint is a matter for public record so there would be no point in denying it. However the number of cases is very small and these are isolated exceptions. There are other newspapers with a higher number of complaints than the Daily Mail

Makes sense,

It is right winger’s crack, they go into withdrawal if they don’t get theur false equivalence fix.

Typical story examples

“Ooh a lefty bought a car, I thought they were communist, they are hypocrites!”

“Science is doing something good, or is it?”

“immigrants are bad”

“I hate meghan because...”

“They are taking out freedom away because....”

“Climate Change fact, but we actually think its fiction”

“Let’s do an article which makes the tories do our bidding”

And many more, shit hits!

"In 2017 the mail was removed from a list of trusted news sources by Wikipedia because it was "generally unreliable" "

However information published in Wikipedia is not necessary reliable either . The Daily Mail actually proved this when a relation of one of the journalists submitted spoof information . Wikipedia still published it ( and it took six weeks to have the incorrect information removed )

Information published in newspapers such as the Daily Mail is checked and the newspaper is governed by the various press regulatory organisations ( unlike the internet where you can literally type in anything you like , regardless of whether it is true or false .

The article below is the result of an experiment on the accuracy of Wikipedia.

To add to the debate, Life's Little Mysteries carried out its own, albeit small, test of Wikipedia's accuracy by consulting experts from two very different walks of life: theoretical physics and pop music. Life's Little Mysteries asked Adam Riess, professor of astronomy and physics at Johns Hopkins University and one of the scientists credited with proposing the existence of dark energy , to rate Wikipedia's "dark energy" entry. "It's remarkably accurate," Riess said. "Certainly better than 95 percent correct." This is not true, however, of the page about the indie pop band "Passion Pit," according to its drummer, Nate Donmoyer. Donmoyer found 10 factual errors on his band's page ranging from subtle to significant. Some information even appeared to have been added to the page by companies or organizations in search of publicity. "It's kind of crazy," Donmoyer told LLM. "I don't think I can trust Wikipedia again. The littlest white lies can throw its whole validity off." It may make sense that Wikipedia would have more reliable articles about academic topics than pop culture ones, considering that the latter are more prone to rumors and hearsay. On the other hand, there's no Passion Pit entry at all in Encyclopaedia Britannica. With more than three million English-language entries, Wikipedia very often wins our preference by default

Increasing your share of the market in one which is declining is a result of which most organisations would be proud of . The only reservation might be if market share was gained at he expense of heavy discounting ( and as a result operating margins were lower ) .

There is no evidence to suggest that his was the case .

"

However congratulation on being a Daily Mail reader. You have made a very wise choice of newspaper . Well done.

You do realise that "daily mail reader" is a general insult for someone who is a bit dim and has dodgy views?

That is the view of the ignorant probably cannot read propably lol

Love how you use broken English to insult people who don't read the daily mail as people who "probably cannot read properly".

You won today's competition for most ridiculous post on fab.

Congratulations.

Allways good to be a winner but easy against a bunch of losers "

You appear to be labelling your non-Daily Mail readers as "a bunch or losers" for not posting ridiculous nonsensical messages.

There definitely seems to be a correlation between general levels of confusion and Daily Mail readership

"In 2017 the mail was removed from a list of trusted news sources by Wikipedia because it was "generally unreliable"

With more than three million English-language entries, Wikipedia very often wins our preference by default "

You deserve a little credit here for copy and pasting this from livescience. Which is not an alt-right website.

However you lose points because the article suggests that Wikipedia was good on science and poor on pop music. And they looked at two out of millions of articles. And their website has a number of other articles suggesting that Wikipedia is in fact generally accurate on the more established pages (IE not obscure pop bands).

No, as you were probably unaware of the Nazi history of the fail you can be forgive for your purchase but just beware of the daily fails history next time your tempted to purchase, there are far finer papers to read, the guardian for example.

Thank you for pointing out history too but I was aware. Germany has a slight relationship to the Nazis too (think history may have covered this as well) but I still drive a German car.

I think your understanding of fact checking in the mail is purposely naive as the reality is that it is driven by a desire to infer the editorial stance of the owners by using information and twisting it to fit their prejudices. So it is actually about getting away with as much as they can within the law and hence the main fact checking they do is to run it by the lawyers before publishing! Honestly you really need to get a grip on reality you old dear.

Why are you asking people here what car to drive?

Anyone who chooses to purchase the Daily Mail is choosing to support a newspaper that prints misogynistic stories, climate science denying articles, transphobic opinion pieces and straight up racism.

As mentioned before, "daily mail reader" is a standard insult for people who are dim and who have dodgy views.

as for the German car industry during the war they were busy working for the Nazi war machine instead. Also companies like thyssenkrupp which is in many fields in the UK from car parts to stair lifts were involved in the gas chambers. I guess we should avoid them too.perhaps if I put a copy of the gaurdian in my car I will be ok.

You criticise people for choosing a paper to read. One criticism is the history during war. Using that logic I was simply saying if I apply that to a paper I need to apply it to other industries. Not pick and choose.

Or maybe you can stop criticising people for their choice of paper

Hi. Do you actually read the Daily Mail and would you have any supporting evidence to back up your statement.? My guess is that you do not read it and are simply repeating various criticisms made of the Daily Mail by a very small but vocal minority .

To describe Daily Mail readers as dim and having dodgy views is a reflection on the person making the statement, not on the Daily Mail readers. Any keyboard warrior can describe people as being dim.

In any event it now appears that the Daily Mail may now be the best selling newspaper in the UK.

It seems incredible that someone would attempt to judge someone by the newspaper that they read. If someone watch's the BBC instead of ITV are they also judged. ?

Hi. Do you actually read the Daily Mail and would you have any supporting evidence to back up your statement.? "

Excellent question, of course there is evidence, just read anything they print from Peter Hitchins, Katie Hopkins or Richard Littlejohn.

And for a view on their climate denial see, climatefeedback.org - a site where climate scientists rate stories in the press about climate change on accuracy.

"

My guess is that you do not read it "

Of course not, what kind of moron do you think I am?

Not sure what to make of the rest of this rambling message, seems like something a Daily Mail reader would write.

Oh I see, personally I don't care if anyone reads the daily mail, people who buy it are only reinforcing their already dodgy views.

Do you really think people flushed their future away because the perceived that some remainers were ridiculing them? (sounds like I am challenging your point, I'm not, but it surprised me)

Still for me you making the same mistakes over and over is good news if a little depressing

Hold on a sec, the Daily Mail was pro Brexit.

Think your right about the confused daily fail readers

See just can't help it

Have your daily fail fix in the morning with some freshly squeezed mango juice and all will be well

Thank you your so kind and useful in supporting all be it unknowingly but every little helps as they say.

A lesson from history I've learned is not supporting traitors like the daily fail, the're still traitorous serving there own selfish interests, just look at brexit.

Yes I know

Maybe I was not clear. When I mentioned the same mistakes I referring to insulting anyone who does not agree with you ( not you personally)

All it did was drive people away from supporting remain. The leave group in public expressed outrage at it but in private rejoiced .

Oh I see, personally I don't care if anyone reads the daily mail, people who buy it are only reinforcing their already dodgy views.

Do you really think people flushed their future away because the perceived that some remainers were ridiculing them? (sounds like I am challenging your point, I'm not, but it surprised me)"

In many ways that's the same for most papers/ readers as they all target a particular audience.

Yes yes yes it made a big difference. For me personally it was one of 2 main reasons I did not vote remain in the end. In many ways it done the leave sides campaigning for them

Sure I agree that people buy newspapers that reinforce their views.

And that seems crazy reason to vote to me. Both sides used dirty tactics (one used illegal tactics). Why didn't people just ignore the bollocks and vote in their own interests and in the interests of the country? (Rhetorical exhaserbated question)

Their was more bollocks about than at an orgy from both sides.

I can only speak for myself and what I have learnt from friends but I have to confirm the attitude towards potential voters was a big reason.

As I said before every time this happened the leave side publicly expressed outrage but privately were rubbing their hands as they could see the effect it was having.

"According to the available print circulation figures for March and April, The Daily Mail may be the UKs biggest-selling paper.

After a 50% fall in readership in 10 years and continuing to decline the future looks bleak

for the Nazi supporting Fail.

I don't buy paper's very much but have bought the mail before amongst others.

Does this mean I am a part time Nazi or because I have actually bought it more than once I'm a full blown Nazi?

No, as you were probably unaware of the Nazi history of the fail you can be forgive for your purchase but just beware of the daily fails history next time your tempted to purchase, there are far finer papers to read, the guardian for example.

Oh that's very gracious of you and there was me just about to order my uniform too.

Thank you for pointing out history too but I was aware. Germany has a slight relationship to the Nazis too (think history may have covered this as well) but I still drive a German car.

Is that acceptable or should I change?

Why are you asking people here what car to drive?

Anyone who chooses to purchase the Daily Mail is choosing to support a newspaper that prints misogynistic stories, climate science denying articles, transphobic opinion pieces and straight up racism.

As mentioned before, "daily mail reader" is a standard insult for people who are dim and who have dodgy views.

If you base your world view on a single news source, as you appear to be advocating, then you are effectively a propagandist for a cosy, blinkered, and prejudiced view of the world so it seems fair to judge that to be inadequate. If on the other hand you absorb and filter information from multiple sources and adapt your views as you learn then you are more likely to be open minded and an interesting person.

Hi. Do you actually read the Daily Mail and would you have any supporting evidence to back up your statement.?

Excellent question, of course there is evidence, just read anything they print from Peter Hitchins, Katie Hopkins or Richard Littlejohn.

And for a view on their climate denial see, climatefeedback.org - a site where climate scientists rate stories in the press about climate change on accuracy.

My guess is that you do not read it

Of course not, what kind of moron do you think I am?

Not sure what to make of the rest of this rambling message, seems like something a Daily Mail reader would write. "

You make a very interesting addmission. You admit not to reading the newspaper concerned yet pass judgement on it and would appear to suggest that those who read it are morons. If you do not read it , how are you in a position to pass judgement. ?

It is probably best to assume that you are part of a very small but vocal minority who promote a highly misleading view of the publication.

The fact that it is one of the UKs best selling newspapers speaks for itself.

Amen.

Your reply fails to address the issue of as to why any rational person would pass judgement on an individual based on the newspaper that they read. My guess is that you do not read the Daily Mail so you probably are unaware of its contents. A reader of a newspaper is unlikely to rely on one single source of information.

As you refer specifically to the Daily Mail, you will probably find that readers obtain information from multiple sources. How about Television , radio , wor colleagues , books, facebook , twitter, and various other forms of social media.

It is probably just as well we live in a free society where everyone can express an opinion. To use your terminology, what is blinkered and inadequate to one person is interesting and informative to others.

Luckily we live in a society where only a very small but vocal minority attempt to insult others. Those confident of the validity of their views would have no need to make posts that some people would consider to be derogatory.

As this is a political forum the best test of the validity of someones views is the result on December 12 th last year.

How on earth do you make this leap of logic? A minority of people voted for this Govt. It is perfectly feasible that even those who voted for them have now changed their minds. A bit like BJ changing his mind on Foreign NHS visa fees. Who knows, you may not even have voted Tory, so how can you prove you are given the divine right to be right!?

Hi. I guess that most supporters of a party would be more than happy to be considered both deluded and arrogant based on the result of the recent election. Every single voter in the UK had the option to express their opinion on those that you consider to be deluded and arrogant. The result of the election is self explanatory.

In four years time the electorate will once again have the opportunity to express their opinion.

Some people would consider describing the voters of a winning party as being deluded and arrogant to be ill mannered . Luckily we live in a democracy where everyone is entitled to a view.

We can only conclude that the best party wins.

If you can only conclude that the best party wins then you're extremely narrow minded and don't take in the majority of information and factors.

But hey. You're a daily mail reader.

If you base your world view on a single news source, as you appear to be advocating, then you are effectively a propagandist for a cosy, blinkered, and prejudiced view of the world so it seems fair to judge that to be inadequate. If on the other hand you absorb and filter information from multiple sources and adapt your views as you learn then you are more likely to be open minded and an interesting person.

A week is a long time in politics , the election was 5 months ago, a lot has changed. Get used to the fact that Boris isn’t up to the job, never was , never will be love that one number 1 returns...brexit is happening get used to it ...remoaners were never up to the task x"

Again, your not making any sense . I cant decipher your non sensical ramblings ? Can you repeat your point ?

A lesson from history I've learned is not supporting traitors like the daily fail, the're still traitorous serving there own selfish interests, just look at brexit.

Oh traitors yes someone who supports the enemies of his country.Who does that remind me of I wonder

Maybe you should look closer to home when looking at brexit as the same mistakes were made then too.

Still for me you making the same mistakes over and over is good news if a little depressing

Hold on a sec, the Daily Mail was pro Brexit.

(sounds like I am challenging your point, I'm not, but it surprised me)

Really all it shows is a lack of backbone.Im not going to vote in my countries best interests in my own best interests in my family's best interest because the stay campaign booooo to the leave traitors. Truly amazing admission. "

Oh supper a new insult to add to the list. Not heard that one before in regards to brexit but they all help.

Your very helpful

The referendum was very straight forward. Each party presented their arguments and the electorate voted accordingly. Everyone knew it was a once in a lifetime decision.

When I voted I sat down at my kitchen table and thought about the pros and cons. I then voted accordingly.

As we were already members of the EU it is worth pointing out that the cards were heavily loaded in favour of the remain campaign.

Life has now moved on.

Just to note I am on another thread where this come up and as you will see I thought it was wrong to do. I have discovered since it was a ploy that worked better than anyone ever imagined.

So now your saying u regret being led up the garden path by nigel and his ilk ? It's like saying the stay people insulted me what can I do, oh I know I'll get a shotgun and shoot my foot that will teach them a lesson, to be honest a lot of people were fooled by the £350 m and a long list of other falsehoods.

As I said I did not think it was a good idea maybe I should have explained better I did not think it was a good idea putting a figure on it.

I was not lead up any paths. I ignored the bus and dismissed it for what it was - a ploy that apparently is still working."

So u didn't think they should have put the figure on the bus cause it was a lie ? Apart from being insulted by the stay campaign I'm struggling to see why u voted brexit, maybe u were always a brexiteer.

(sounds like I am challenging your point, I'm not, but it surprised me)

Really all it shows is a lack of backbone.Im not going to vote in my countries best interests in my own best interests in my family's best interest because the stay campaign booooo to the leave traitors. Truly amazing admission.

Oh supper a new insult to add to the list. Not heard that one before in regards to brexit but they all help.

Your very helpful

I understand from your posts you voted for brexit and poverty because you were insulted by the stay campaign.

Do let me know when the £350 million a week starts arriving and hope your not insulted by that comment

Still helping out at every chance I see - your so good

So you're happy that people were fooled into voting against the interests of the country to make a few rich pricks richer?

Strange The referendum was very straight forward.

It sure has, perhaps Patrick as an avid dail fail reader u can shine some light on when this mythical £350 million a week starts arriving. Apparently the fail was promoting it for months but now not a word,,,very strange.

I was suprised some had not learnt from the past regarding insults but even more suprised they still falling for the bus ploy.

I ignored the bus and dismissed it for what it was - a ploy that apparently is still working.

So u didn't think they should have put the figure on the bus cause it was a lie ? Apart from being insulted by the stay campaign I'm struggling to see why u voted brexit, maybe u were always a brexiteer.

I did not see how it would help as whatever figure was used it would cause a stir. As said it turned out to be a ploy that as you are proving worked better than can be imagined.

How did it work on me ? I voted stay unlike you.

Ha ha ha of course you did but you helped the leave side so so much from the moment the bus came out."

How ?

A lesson from history I've learned is not supporting traitors like the daily fail, the're still traitorous serving there own selfish interests, just look at brexit.

Oh traitors yes someone who supports the enemies of his country.Who does that remind me of I wonder

Maybe you should look closer to home when looking at brexit as the same mistakes were made then too.

Still for me you making the same mistakes over and over is good news if a little depressing

Hold on a sec, the Daily Mail was pro Brexit.

(sounds like I am challenging your point, I'm not, but it surprised me)

In many ways that's the same for most papers/ readers as they all target a particular audience.

I'm kind of hoping you will work it out and giving you clues.

No worries though its good in a way for any future similar scenarios"

Lewisham

In all conversations with any leave voter none have ever been able to give a coherent argument based on facts why they support brexit.

Yes, I get it's happening whether we like it or not but none of you have ever been able to tell me why. I want a reason to be wrong. I want to be persuaded that it isn't going to be a massive shit show. I don't like looking at the future and thinking Covid 19 might be the highlight of the next couple of years. Please persuade me with facts, not emotion or rhetoric. Tell me how life is going to be better.

Unfortunately your going to be waiting some time it's all waffle and no substance with most brexiteers, ask questions and they say You've insulted me it would be funny if it hadn't turned the uk into an irrelevance on the world stage.

(sounds like I am challenging your point, I'm not, but it surprised me)

In many ways that's the same for most papers/ readers as they all target a particular audience.

I was suprised some had not learnt from the past regarding insults but even more suprised they still falling for the bus ploy.

I remember that lol. Hook line and sinker

You know Pat, my last post was an exercise in patience and an attempt to engage with you and see if there was any depth to your posts but quite honestly I cant find anything in your response that is worthy of me devoting any more of my time and effort on you....you are a lost cause and frankly you come across as a rather boring, pedantic and shallow chap with very little empathy for your fellow man so I shall bow out of this now and leave you to your little englander ways. Enjoy your propaganda

Is that directed at me?

I don't recall speaking with you before"

You’re new here Leroy and although you appear to be conservative in your posts I have no axe to grind with you. So, one of the first qualifications of this fab forum is that most of the regulars know who Pat is, and have seen him reappear in many guises over the years. He has a very predictable and extremely dull and repetitive method of expressing his views and appears to get some sort of satisfaction from being an object of derision and whether that is sexual or not I can only wonder. Anyway, welcome aboard but be prepared to be sitting on the sidelines as its a difficult party to join in with although once you get some more experience of it you will be able to judge the levels of heirarchy more easily.

Well I thought the forums were free for anyone to state their views. Your guy Pat may well get pleasure from being derided so I would suggest you allow him to post as he is entitled to and do not deride him. If your right then his source of pleasure will be ended .

So what's this about a hierarchy? Why would anyone have to sit on the side lines?

I look on here when I can and post sometimes. I don't expect all to agree with me but I can express my view without anyone's permission as long as its within the fab guidelines. Their does seem to be regulars here and very keen to slate anyone who does not agree with them. Oh and an Irish guy who turns any subject into a Boris subject regardless of what it is- maybe he has issues

. This is a very strange post . You appear to be implying that posters on these forums are unable to form their own opinions on other posters and that you need to do it on their behalf . It would be interesting to know what qualifications you have that enables to to do this ?

The internet is simply cyberspace and any keyboard warrior can type comments . ( in many cases a keyboard warrior would not dare make their comments in rreal life ) . Imagine going into a pub and insulting a group of people drinking - most people are fully aware of the likely consequences .

Feedback on internet forums is probably meaningless . What is crucial is the feedback that you receive in real life from real people , not that from those who choose to hide behind a keyboard .

I get feedback daily from care workers / cleaners / agents and weekly / monthly from Doctors and nurses . Feedback is also received from clients of a small business which I run and from work colleagues when in full time employment .

In ranking of importance

a. Feedback from those who hide their identity behind a keyboard . Nil .

b. Real life feedback . Very important

It was very surprising to hear of a hierarchy here. Silly me thought we was all allowed to post our views without fear of abuse.

Like you say would they do this face to face in real life?. Do they act like this at their work place?.

Maybe I am to new to this as he says. Maybe I should learn my place

(sounds like I am challenging your point, I'm not, but it surprised me)

In many ways that's the same for most papers/ readers as they all target a particular audience.

I was suprised some had not learnt from the past regarding insults but even more suprised they still falling for the bus ploy.

I don't recall speaking with you before

You’re new here Leroy and although you appear to be conservative in your posts I have no axe to grind with you. So, one of the first qualifications of this fab forum is that most of the regulars know who Pat is, and have seen him reappear in many guises over the years. He has a very predictable and extremely dull and repetitive method of expressing his views and appears to get some sort of satisfaction from being an object of derision and whether that is sexual or not I can only wonder. Anyway, welcome aboard but be prepared to be sitting on the sidelines as its a difficult party to join in with although once you get some more experience of it you will be able to judge the levels of heirarchy more easily.

Warminster

I’m reminded of this little gem from the independent on the occasion of the Daily Mirrors 100 birthday

It is one of the choicest pieces of journalistic dinner party general knowledge that the filthy right-wing Daily Mail was officially a fascist newspaper in the 1930s. The paper was burned on the streets after running the headline "Hurrah for the Blackshirts" and backing Oswald Mosley's plan to make himself Britain's equivalent of Adolf Hitler. No surprise then, so the conversational gambit goes, that the Mail is still beating up on asylum seekers today.

What is less well known is that the Mail's former stablemate the Daily Mirror was just as pro-fascist. On Monday, 22 January, 1934 the Mirror ran the headline "Give the Blackshirts a helping hand". The paper went one further than the Mail, urging readers to join Mosley's British Union of Fascists, and giving the address to which to send membership applications.

I have to say I have not heard that before but its interesting.

I wonder did you get this approved by the hierarchy on fab before posting?.

Or have you already earned your spurs?

I am told who I should and should not take notice of and be on the side lines until I am accepted which I expect means support their views

Best of luck

"I judge Pat from my experience of reading his posts for the last six years I have been part of fab. He has had many different guises in that time (most recently tractors and trailers, also scania man) and I understand that he gets regularly banned for his obnoxious posts, and has to reinvent himself to get back on here, which is a pretty peculiar thing to have to do so hence my question about his motivation.

The heirarchy I refer to is the one which includes people like fabio or poi lucy who have been fabbers for years and dont post very often but when they do, they are always worth listening to! You are new and have yet to earn your spurs on this forum Leroy, so dont take it personally as it was advice and guidance given without malice.

To fab moderators and any other experienced forum users : is the above true(not the bit about the one known as Pat).

I was unaware I or anyone else had to earn their spurs here. I thought no one had to be on the side lines and that all can take part as and when they choose.

He does state it is without malice which is go on so it makes me think he maybe correct and I am not abiding by the rules

Oh for gods sake...dont be so literal! My post was to try and explain to you that people come and go on here and from my own experience I spent a long time being outside of the conversations which were taking place snd that you might be a bit surprised to find that some regular posters on here have multiple personalities. At no point did I ever imply you were restricted or had to pass some kind of test to post. Think of it more as comparable to your first day at school or in a new job where you have to learn the relationships between different factions. Do you understand that this was not personal?"

Is this everyone else's view too?

I'm just asking others opinion on this.

I have yours and thank you.

so am asking if it is a common opinion by asking others.

The question is for others to answer if they so wish.

I was asking a question after the other gent gave me advice on here and pointed out certain things. I have to say I was unaware of these things so I put the question out to others.

I am not sure how that is playing the victim. To me its asking a question after someone who is not a moderator makes such a statement / advice is sensible

I see your advice about if you have something interesting to say fire away.

That's not easy to judge as what I may find interesting you may not or visa versa.
