America id charging a poor country (Sudan) 300 million dollars to be removed from their list of terrorist countries.

Is this plainly a gangster style protection racket?

If a private company did that it would probably be called bribery.

Well, it depends on which country initiated this, and if the us state department accepts the money. Either way it looks bad

Its not quite as black and white as that.

The 330 million dollars being quoted, is compensation due for the bombings of two US embassies in Africa in 1998. America holds Sudanese based terrorists responsible for these attacks.

Once this compensation is paid, then the US will normalise relations with the new regime in Sudan, provide inward investment and remove Sudan from their terrorism list.

I suppose it depends on actual evidence that the Sudanese govt. supported terrorism?
