Soaring overhead as the lesser nations looked on in awe.

Proudly flying the red ensign and halyards at full tilt.

Brilliant stuff I'm sure we will all agree.

Great stuff but not in the league of the Yanks and the Thunderbirds flying genuine fast jets rather than the usual Trainers.

Red Ensign?

They're planes, for goodness sake, not merchant ships or the kind of British yachts which don't belong to snooty 'Blue Ensign' entitled clubs.

The RAF has its own Ensign anyway but the correct metaphor would surely be 'Flying the Union Jack'?

Blimey there are some right miserable people on this site, they could win the lottery and still find something to moan at, almost all the negative ones are single men no wonder they have got anyone, they would suck the life out of any relationship

He had that "get in there" expression, even Merkel and Makron loved it. Just irritating that Ursula was there for some reason.

Ah right, you think they share that view, things didn't go too well, especially northern Ireland when macron said it wasn't in the UK, biden warning about the gfi to boris.

I hope relations improve a lot, especially trade with the EU

Macron and Biden are mental midgets.

In the Portland Softpower ranking Great Britain is number 1, worth a read. They hate us cos they ain't us.

They are cool, but, as has been mentioned, other nations have similar.

If this is the high point of the G7, it didn't go that great.

We also had the Blue Eagles and the White Helmets, both discontinued. I much preferred both of these.

Yes but have you ever talked to one?

Hi, I'm Red Three, would you like an autograph?

No mate, your alright.

Not saying their not brilliant at what they do but come on, anyone who introduces them self as Red Three

And don't get me started on the ground crew who seem to think their special too by virtue of the drafter posting them on a squadron looking after rudimentary jet trainer aircraft.

Red Arrows pilots are from “Officer Ranks” (surprise, surprise). Patrouille de France pilots are simply their best pilots; which caused a problem in that when they met up with their counterparts from other nations some of them were not eligible to enter the Officers’ Mess. So the French invented an Officer’s Rank for pilots seconded to the Patrouille de France. Which caused resentment from the other French pilots who were “real” Officers…

Snobbism and elitism exist everywhere, I think the real reason so many French and English hate each other is ‘cos they’re so much alike.

Ah, I have heard of it. In fact I saw it several times at Earls Court in my younger days but it obviously held a lower priority in my memory cache than the Red Arrows!

All RAF pilots are Officers so I'm missing your point about the snobbery?

Anyway if you want a decent display you can't beat BBMF. Sound of a Merlin wins every day, hands down.

I lived next door to someone who got injured training for the royal tournament, the gun slipped and crushed his leg. He was invalid out of the navy sadly.
