Move to the usual forum is Mods so wish, but maybe let it gain a little

Momentum…..

Anyway, we all bitch and moan about this and that and complain the politicians are all corrupt and self serving? So the question of the day is:

Why Don’t we do something about it and stand up as a candidate?

Personally I hate any kind of public profile. Would relish the challenge and trying to change things for the better. Would have to take a pay cut, but biggest factor is the public profile. Would hate to be in the public glare. (Mr)

What what’s your excuse

Because the media wouldn't care about my policies, they would connect me to Jack the Ripper or question my morals based on if I know the queens birthday.

Losing battle meh.

If you're worried about a high public profile why not stand for the Lib Dems ?

Because my sex life has years of activity that Daily Heil readers would be outraged by and their scum “journalists” would be digging away and ready to character assassinate as soon as I started getting any policy traction that didn’t align with their masters beliefs/objectives.

Politicians need to be squeeky clean these days. One sniff of a skeleton in the cupboard and you would be humiliated in the so called newspapers.

Being a Swinger in some peoples eyes is tantamount to being possessed by the devil, being a threat to children and simply perverse.

You wouldn’t stand a chance if there was the slightest whiff of anything juicy in your past (or present lol).

Not for me thanks because to be elected you have to lie to everyone. Lie about who you are, what you believe and what you propose to do.

Then you can still get beaten in the ballot by some guy who came 5th in Big Brother in 2010 who knows fuck all about anything.

It would be great if we could have a “freedom party” that wasn’t ashamed of sexuality and having fun. It happened in Italy. But alas, the media in this country would hound and hound and target the kids etc. Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells would never let it happen.

That’s the problem. Only those who have the time become councillors. Sadly that often reflects in the quality. I’ve been fortunate if you can call it that to sit in on some council meetings although admittedly many years ago. I was staggered by the shocking stupidity of some the councillors. The chief executives ran the show in reality.

Probably because the councillors didn’t listen to the chief exec. ( They can override good advice) In addition the government made such large cuts in local budgets sone areas couldn’t cope. So less money and incompetence combined to cause chaos and failure.

because whitehall stupidly keeps imposing strings of unelected incompetent conservative and unionist party members as chief executives on the elected representatives there.
