Charles Bronson public parole hearing

Apparently Charles Salvador (as he's now known) is due to have the first public parole hearing at age 70.

Looking into this guy it seems a lot of his violence has occurred while in custody and the original offences he was locked up for seem petty in comparison.

Evidently mental health issues that were exasperated by being institutionalised. Some murderers and child killers have been locked up for less time.

What's everyone's take on this man's situation?

Heathrowish

Should be interesting viewing.

The simple question is....does he serve as a threat to society?

From another life I know quite a bit about Charlie. (I have not been inside)

If he gets out I would wonder if he could cope in a modern world. He’s very institutionalised.

couple, us we him her.

If you take a life you deserve to stay in jail until your death.

The system didn't put him in there, crime's committed inside and outside should carry the same degree of punishment.

I can't understand this lenient attitude towards violent offenders.

Can't do the time don't do the crime.

"If you take a life you deserve to stay in jail until your death."

Absolutely, but violent as he is, he's committed more violence in prison than out. He's also not killed anyone.

Read up on what he was sentenced for and how long ago. Youd be surprised as its actually not as bad as the typical stuff some kids are doing to each other these days.

Maybe its who he's committed the violence against, that is leading to the tougher sentencing.

Commit violence on Joe Public and your deserving of some understanding. Commut violence against figures of authority and your scum in the eyes of the judiciary.

I have to disagree with your statement that the crime he originally went into prison for seems petty in comparison as it was armed robbery.
