Who do you think the next leader of the SNP should be?

The front runners appear to be John Swinney and Kate Forbes. The old guard versus the new. I’m sure they will take a bashing at the next election but as long as the Tories don’t win I’ll be happy.

Kate Forbes

***********

She has membership of the Free Church of Scotland, an evangelical Calvinist denomination with socially conservative positions, and holds religious views on sexual ethics, including disavowal of sexual intercourse before marriage, rejection of same-sex marriage, and opposition to most abortions.

***********

Can't say that summary sound particularly appealing.

Which leaves John Swinney of which I know nothing about.

Its quite the career jump from stand up comedian to leader of the government. Maybe she could use your suggestions as one of her jokes. It certainly made me laugh

Looking like John Swinney is going to get the job. His second tenure I believe. Seems to be some rebuilding required but he certainly has experience

John Swinney was SNP leader from 2000 to 2004 and has served as Scotland's deputy first minister and finance minister.

I must admit I didn't even know who the leader of the SNP was anyway. But seems the home nation political parties don't pick white blokes any more.
