….and is starting a new party with the Corbynator?

Great news if you are a leftie & loathe Starmer.

Think Jezza is a bit too old these days to be leading from the front though.

If Corbyn splits the left's votes, it'll be an easy win for Farage

Starmer and Reeves obviously aren’t destroying the economy fast enough.

Time for Corbyn and Sultana to step up….if they can stop themselves from talking about Israel for five minutes.

New Statesman did a poll for a ‘Corbyn Party’ before this development:

REF 27%

LAB 20%

CON 20%

LIB 14%

CORBYN 10%

That 34% at the moment is an outlier. Whether that continues to be the case remains to be seen of course.

The last two polls I have seen have Labour on 20% and 24%. Difficult to see where Corbyn’s 10% is coming from if the New Statesman has Corbyn on 10% and Labour on 20%. I’d expect Labour to be on around 15% max if Corbyn is on 10%. Maybe some would switch from the Greens to Corbyn.

Yeah, some Greens & some who held their nose & still voted for Starmer I reckon.

There is an irony to this regarding reform supporters gloating that I think they don’t realise

If this new grouping does go ahead and they officially become their own political party… they will have more mp’s than reform

This means reform get less funding from the public purse, less influence in parliament because they would be lower on the pecking order for parliamentary questions

Heck… lower on the list for party political broadcasts .. lower on the list for question time and Sunday morning appearances

Hmmm…. Might start changing my mind!!

Not seeing Labour turning this around in a hurry

Housing starts and completions are short of Rayners pledge, estimated there will be 840,000 new homes completions in the five years to 2028/29, 42% short of the Rayners target of 1.5 million.

And 2k a week in small boats is not smashing the gangs, adding to housing shortages

The problem with your analysis is that Parliament is (and has been for some time) increasingly irrelevant. As with the Tories before them, Labour is primarily driven on a day to day basis by the headlines of the day rather than any strategy or its Parliamentary majority. Hence the continual flip flopping. The Tories were the same. It’s worse for Labour because Starmer is weaker even than Sunak.

And the vast majority of the population doesn’t watch political shows on a Sunday morning. They have better things to do.

I can’t remember the last time I sat through PMQ’s, a Sunday morning politics show, or watched a party political broadcast. Probably talking decades ago.

Reform doesn’t have any problem getting new and old media attention whenever it wants it. Farage is a media magnet, more so than any other UK politician.

Really ?

Why is no small boats in the channel a fairytale or plenty of other countries in the world that protect their territory, loan, integrity and don’t allow this kind of nonsense.

Why is no Nhs waiting list a fairytale? Most places I’ve lived in the world? Do not have waiting list for healthcare services

I could go on. I’m no fan of reform but it seems to me the British people have a very low sense of what is possible with decent government who know what they are doing

Not sure what the point of this new party is/will be.

Why don't they join the Greens?

"Interesting that Scotland is important enough to have parties but not Wales or NI"

Wales has Plaid Cymru, and Northern Ireland has DUP and UUP. It's just that those parties don't have enough voters to make up 1% of the UK population.

I don’t get these polls. They seem to be suggesting the Corbyn 10% support has come mostly from parties other than Labour? As they have Labour on or around the same figures as pre Corbyn. Nobody even remotely to the right is Starmer is gonna vote for Corbyn

Weirdly, in Wales in places like Merthyr and Ebbw Vale who have traditionally been labour are going reform.

They are economically liberal but socially conservative hence why Fagash has moved on his economic ideals.

Despite being a Thatcherite and a lover of Liz's budget and the instigator of Brexit all terrible economically, the valleys love love him

Yeah, I don’t get that logic. The Persians (modern day Iran) conquered and ensl@ves back in the day, you don’t hear the lefties applying the same logic to them. They just have very selective compassion I guess.

My opinions of Zara Sultana and Jeremy Corbyn are mixed - I agree with a lot of what they say on a national level, but their ideas about the Middle East are misinformed and borderline suicidal.

I couldn't vote for them on a domestic manifesto alone.

But, if I put my feelings to one side, I just see another couple of egos who want to be in the spotlight - and that will be their downfall.

If they want to have an impact they should join an already well known party (like the Greens) and use their influence to help shape policy - and I'd say exactly the same to Galloway and co. too.

Interesting take.

So you accept theirs a bias in the Media to the right?

Let me clarify the print media has a tendency to lean right and the TV programing takes ques from the papers? You know like tomorrows papers today?
