Harry v. Andrew

It seems that being born as "the Spare" screws you up for life. But who would you say has screwed up more?

Is it Andrew "I didn't have sex with a 17 year old girl, which is strange because I've tried it on with every other female I've ever met"? Or Harry "I want a reconciliation meeting with my father, but only so I'll have some more material to sell my next interview"?

And if you were throwing a party, who would you invite from Meghan and Sarah Ferguson?

I wouldn't invite either Meghan or Sarah Ferguson but if I absolutely had to it would be Meghan.

I prefer Prince Harry to Prince Andrew.

I think the entire royal family have lived a life of immense privilege which they will hang on to by any means possible and if that means cutting one member out entirely they'll do it without a backward glance.

Definitely Fergie she’d be a hoot.

Meghan would just spend her time surrounded by advisers trying to get the perfect shot and working out what the best angle would be to pitch to the media from her attendance.

"I think the entire royal family have lived a life of immense privilege "

The life of a "Spare" doesn't seem to be very privileged to me. Well unless you believe that money buys you happiness.

I don't think it's possible to get rid of them but I do think a very scaled down monarchy is a good idea and let's have less of this 'hard working royal' and 'Saint Catherine and William ' propoganda

I think Prince Harry was and is privileged compared to most people. Privilege isn't the same thing as happiness

I can accept that, but if you were given a choice between being "privileged and unhappy" and "unprivileged but happy", which would you go for?

I don't see how that's relevant but if in this context privilege means huge wealth, status, power and access to the best of everything I'd probably choose happiness.

I think that's called "being an adult"!

Is it?

Prince Harry had no choice, he was born in to huge wealth and privilege. He seems to me as far as I can tell, to be as happy as is possible for him.

I was actually calling you an adult, not Harry!

He doesn't seem very happy. Well that's what he keeps on telling us.

The French managed to get rid of their entire aristocracy . the Russians got rid of the tzars , the Germans got rid of the kesar admittedly the replacements have not been much better .

It's pragmatism but if I'm not an adult now I doubt I ever will be .

I have some sympathy for Prince Harry and Meghan

A better question:

Donald Trump, Joe Biden, Donald Trump...

or

Queen Elizabeth, King Charles, King William?

I think Andrew seems totally repulsive. Harry is likeable, if misguided and doesn't seem to have hurt potential innocent people who he may have engaged with, alongside evil criminals that they've associated with for years.

I'd trust Harry but never Andrew.

There's a TV show on him, where UK citizens will judge him, as if in court. I assume he'll be found guilty
