Well if you disregard the incompetent and the sycophants there's not many left to chose from. Best just to sit back and enjoy the show.

Even managed to comment before the figures have even been released!

Orange Man Bad!

Perhaps compare them to UK jobs data and see which you should be more concerned about.

The much bigger issue, for the whole world, are the sackings in the defense and intelligence departments.

Was the dismissal unlawful?

If so presumably the dismissed employee can sue.

No need to apologise at all.

Dow Jones and Nasdaq at record highs.

Trump has been saying for months that the Fed needs to cut interest rates. Powell needs to go.

Unnecessary government employees being laid off. Trump’s hugely successful immigration crackdown having an impact on jobs demand. Net immigration heading for zero in the US. We need to do the same in the Uk.

US unemployment up slightly from 4.2 to 4.3%. Wages up 3.7%.

US economy doing way better than the UK.

Like I said… if you are waiting on the apology… I would not hold your breath….

I do like the Jedi mind trick you tried to pull though…. Quick.. look at the distraction!!

If you need read the report…there are two interesting nuggets in there you might of missed

1) they revised the past figures again and in June there was actually a loss of jobs in the economy… first time that has happened in 5 years (beginning of COVID)

2) for a man who talks and brags about bringing back manufacturing….. last 4 months in the manufacturing sector… all job losses

And we still haven’t talked tariffs yet!!!

No apologies required, seems I was right.

Did I hear something about rewinding on tarrifs as well ? I think that was the word, rewinding.

Re: the rewind of tariffs….

Now the full federal circuit board of judges has said that the tariffs specifically levied under IEEPA are illegal… those are basically the “liberation day “ tariffs….

However they have allowed them to stay in place until October 7th to decide either how to repay the money to importers, or allow them to request an appeal to the Supreme Court (this is what Trump will do)

It’s going to be interesting to see how it is argued and it’s going to have to be novel because it basically says at the very beginning of the constitution (section 1 part 8) that the power of the purse is held by congress

I know many people see the US constitution as almost a sacred text but it's a bit of a mess in places in my opinion.

Article 1 does a good job of specifying the legislative powers but it seems the framers ran out of steam when they got to Article 2 which specifies the executive powers and Article 3 which specifies the judicial powers.

Much of Article 2 and Article 3 is vaguely worded and needs to be interpreted carefully while keeping Article 1 in mind. It seems to me that they didn't think sufficiently about the constitution being deliberately misinterpreted by future despots.

Because Article 2 is so vaguely written people like Trump just point to elements of it they like the sound of and ignore the implicit fact that it's supposed to be interpreted in the context of Article 1.

So Trump points at the Article 2 Section 1 vesting clause that says "The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America." and he thinks this means he has the power of a monarch when the main thing the framers had in mind was the opposite of this - hence all the detail in Article 1.

Also there's no expliit protection from Congress passing laws that give the executive all kinds of emergency powers. Hence practically everything Trump does is by executive order claiming that there is an emergency.

It seems like he couldn't dismiss her after all.

Going to the supreme court apparently
