I am wondering how much this trump visit is costing?

1 new school?

Or

1 new hospital wing

Or

2000 teachers salary for a year

Or

15 miles of new roads in acciden blackspots

Argue it's a winning favour with DT if you wish, but I think he'll have forgotten about it all by the time he clears European air space.

Less than the coronation and less than Prince Andrew’s out of court settlement.

We were just talking about this. The invitation to visit is more for the office of POTUS rather than the man himself. It's a business trip and all the cost, pomp and circumstance will be worth it if it brings in the dosh. I doubt KC3 was counting down the days in anticipation

Pretty much this. It will either bring in real revenue or stop the kids of money. Think of it like a sales and marketing event for a very rich toddler.

You could probably say the same about all diplomatic activity. I’m not sure the visit of a US President needs to be singled out for particular attention.

We are more likely to get something out of Trump than most foreigners we spend time and money sucking up to.

He's the richest toddler in the playground.

It's a matter of "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer". Whilst the US isn't exactly our enemy, Trump is a loose cannon and the more engaged we are the better.

I'm inclined to agree as distasteful as I find it. I just thank god I don't have to do any of it.

I think the cost is estimated at about £5 million and most of it might be in police overtime payments so it'll get recycled into the economy when they go to the pub.

On a more serious note, as has already been said it's entirely about sucking up to Trump. King Charles is well trained in handling diplomatic niceties so hopefully King Donald will go away happy and we might suffer less from him throwing his toys out of the pram than other countries. So at the end of the day £5 million well spent.

Prince Andrew? The disgraced sex pest friend of Jeffery Epstein?

We don't want his type round here do we?

I think he will remember this for ever. For someone with an ego as big as his then this is probably up there with becoming president.

As an example of soft power then you don’t get much better value for money for living in his head rent free.

Didn't Andrew get this paid by his family, rather than as an additional state coat?

This visit could have paid for a few thousand nurse's salaries for the whole year though.

Three thousand nurses would cost over 100 million for a year.

They also might want paying for their second year and third year and so on unless they would all be sacked at the end of year 1

Tripping over Trump to massage his ego. Gross. Benefit London and south east as usual with any investment. Nothing for NI

Costs us around £5 million.

It will cost Trump $100 million to superimpose the jubilant flag waving crowds.

I wonder if you are an accountant who counts the cost of everything, and doesn't understand the value of anything?

This 2nd SV by Trump is a huge win for UK plc, went off without a hitch and is the envy of the world. No other Country comes even near to the Pagentry we routinely put on.

A major win and boost for our PM in terms of Statesmanship, inward investment and cementing our bonds with the US. Britain at its best.
