Considering all sorts of symbolism and propaganda has been shoved down people's throats for so long you can't really blame folk for putting their own symbols in prominence.
When it comes to 'flag wankers' the same smears could be said for modern Pride, Palestine, and the Socialist Worker nonsense. All communism with a different coat of paint. |

Doesn't bother me if you want to wave a flag, either as an adult or as a child on a sandcastle, has about the same effect on me.
I always read posts on forums as if they are being articulated in real life, say in the pub, and judge how much interest it would generate for me.
Most times I imagine it coming from someone at the end of the bar and my response would be either a shrug, a smile and the intention of moving away sharpish.  |

I guess the irony failed to land… I was poking fun at both the people who put up the flags and those who criticise them in equally silly ways. I don’t think anyone wins out of this, apart from possibly some on the far right who opportunistically hijack what’s happening |
