Two incredible stories this week that have to be read properly to be believed.

First its been revealed that the Met Police recruited thousands of officers without proper vetting, and employed over 100 who had failed vetting but were approved by a panel which prioritised racial diversity. Many of these officers went to onto to commit serious crimes while working for the Met. BBC website has details.

Meanwhile in Birmingham the British Medical Journal has discovered that the local NHS Trust gave over £40 million to a single individual to recruit Dr's from Pakistan without asking for a single invoice or any record of how much went to the Dr's. Pakistan is on the WHO priority list of countries where Dr's should not be employed by Western countries as there is such a shortage. Most of these Dr's paid no tax on their UK earnings and did not return when their contracts expired.

What a time to be alive ! 🤣😭

And the antisemitic behaviour of West Midlands Police in banning Jewish football fans on made up pretexts.

Tens of thousands of pounds paid to UK politicians by X, whilst co-owned Grok continues to allow images of women to be converted to sexualised images and worse. . Following an outcry and demand from the Labour government, they have restricted the tool to paying members.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/01/09/prevent-video-game-extremist/

Quite a scary read. Prevent has made a video game to teach children to stay away from far right extremism. The idea is good. But looks like they are portraying it in a way that if someone searches for news and statistics about immigration, it will inevitably lead the person to far right extremism.

Going by this thread, it looks like most of the public institutions have been infiltrated by corrupt and ideologically biases bureaucrats.

A couple of other stories in the news this week

Patient falls out of ambulance rear door on a motorway slip road.

Police tell family of dead teenager that he is in intensive care while telling family of teenager in intensive that he is dead.

You really couldn't make this shit up.

I agree with above corruption ,politics etc.

As an ex pat this is how I see Broken Britain today.

Over Christmas I was lucky enough to have an evening in Birmingham to see Slade ( OK yes were old )

I paid 8 pounds to drive 100 yards into a clean air zone ,same air as 100 yards before it, food banks and soup kitchen's bursting with people queing. On the way out of the gig, a whole street in digbeth lined full of cardboard / sleeping bags on the pavement and dozens of what I can only describe as zombies on spice with a total loss of bodily functions either smiling ,sleeping or dormant and beggars with ex military placards ,

Is it right to allow this to happen while council officials , politicians and beneficiaries of corruption get away with it and illegals are in warm hotels with 3 meals a day.

Broken Britain is an understatement.

This is an extremely serious failing. Shocking and heads must roll - this kind of practice (even if merely incompetence) has the scope to produce terrible, terrible outcomes. Even worse outcomes than several posters on here in the other thread basing whole arguments off AI hallucinations.

This is not a partisan issue and extends well beyond fans attending a match. Truly shocking.

She can't under the existing legislation brought in by the tories in 2011 only the police and crime commissioner can sack him..

I think he should resign and agree with Lord Mann that the force should be under special measures or certainly an outside investigation into who took what decisions in the senior management team of the force on this fuck up..

The PCC for the West Midlands is Simon Foster....the elected Labour Party candidateat the last PCC election, so while the Home Secretary cannot sack the Chief Constable, there is an elected Labour Party politico who can.

While there is apparently, an ongoing process but in my view, it would send a better reflection if the Chief Constable was sent on administrative leave until the process has concluded.

A school in Bristol has cancelled a Jewish MP from speaking there as his appearance could be disturbing. Turns out the school's 'diversity and inclusion' leader previously said that Hamas terrorists who carried out the October 7 massacre in Israel were “heroes fighting for justice”. 🤦‍♂️

Truly shocking behaviour from the police and possibly others. I remember the allegations of trouble in Amsterdam being questioned (by the Amsterdam authorities amongst others) but also learnt today that another match against West Ham was also used as evidence to get this recent match banned for fans. It turns out that no such match took place. West Ham were actually playing against a team from Greece. Totally invented to appease anti Jewish people

The problem is that by the time the excessive number of SEND pupils have sucked the money out of the system for transport and other unnecessary support, coupled with social care and huge costs for gold plated council worker pensions, there actually isn’t any money left for the important things that the councils should be spending on.
