Overlooked with the Mandelson scandal but amazing story yesterday that the reductions in NHS waiting lists claimed by Govt are almost entirely fictional, and caused by Govt PAYING NHS to remove people from lists !
In fact NHS operations are down about 10,000 a month despite record funding levels.
Whatever next?! |

A few weeks ago I was reading that there were a record 8 million people waiting over a month for a GP appointment.
Maybe there is a logic in there somewhere.
If you can't get a GP appointment then you don't get a referral so you are not on a hospital waiting list.
Hooray, we've cut hospital waiting lists. |

It all seems to be a scam. |

They are paying the NHS 3 mil a month to take people of the waiting lists |

They basically paid money to remove people who don't need the appointment anymore from the waiting list.
It's the right thing to do but... they can't use the new waiting list numbers to pretend like they solved the NHS waiting list problem. |

It's the new NHS, wait for people to get better on their own, or die, then claim to have cured them

There is another lie with this: all the knee and hip replacement ops in Northants are being contracted out to the private sector (to Spire, Ramsey and Circle Health). Same with cataract surgery (to Medica). Labour can keep saying that Conservative and Reform want to privatise the NHS and that is also what Trump wants from the now frozen trade deal, but the reality is that Labour is reducing waiting lists by privatising vast swathes of elective surgery. |
