Is there any valid reason for this?
I realise it's been going on for decades but what is it going to achieve.?
Not sure if it's gone from a valid reason to just some sort of weird tradition for each potus in turn to tighten the screws.

Personally i cant see the reasons for the continued sanctions, and i think its time other countries grew a pair and started trading with Cuba, and sod the US and their wishes, all the other caribbean countries should hang their heads in shame, when Cuba helped a lot of them with their medical services, and now they just sit their and watch Cuba suffer. |

Personally i cant see the reasons for the continued sanctions, and i think its time other countries grew a pair and started trading with Cuba, and sod the US and their wishes, all the other caribbean countries should hang their heads in shame, when Cuba helped a lot of them with their medical services, and now they just sit their and watch Cuba suffer."
Yes I remember now about the medical services given, and your right, they should be ashamed of themselves.

Guess America doesn't want a commie nation that close to its borders, also this constant chat about their medical sector being first class is laughable. They may have lots of Drs but no good tech or the latests drugs |

Before Castro, Cuba was viewed as a vassal state by the US, a playground for the rich to dodge US laws and taxes. The aim of sanctions is to starve Cubans back into that arrangement. It's just a power play by the US, similar to Canada and Greenland. |

When any regime collapses, there is a power vacum that needs to be filled which is often more disastrous for the people than what is already there.
Iraq is the prime example.
The US wants quasi-client puppets whuch will be subject to their whim. The whole world needs to grow a pair and say enough is enough.
Trump's latest misadventures in Iran, did not have an exit plan. He was going along because Netanyahu was left unchecked and he needed to do something to save face.... Guess what, it's another U.S. cluster fcuk, [he should of made up another bulls#it W.M.D. fairytale, instead of going to liberate oil fields]
Change from within a regime, which is not always easy or quick is the safest for everyone. |

I have read that China is giving Cuba enough solar panels and storage to keep the basic infrastructure running. Trump is playing a game that may prove very costly. Russia has proven to be a benign benefactor to Cuba. China ? |

If Trump is going to make some money out of their suffering, he's probably feeling the pressure to get things underway, before he potentially becomes a lame duck president. He's local for exploiting it from his Florida base.
For him, it's only about feeding his ego, power and money.
